Guest post- Life Outside of Teen Mom

Nikki from Nikki Darlin’ Beauty to the Bone has kindly written a guest post for me. She, like me, is a fan of Teen Mom and wrote about some of the mom’s on the show. So check out her post and check out her blog! Have a great Friday everyone!!

Life Outside of Teen Mom.

Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley have never had the perfect relationship. They bounce between being engaged to broken up every other day. But the worst part is that their two year old daughter is being thrown in the middle. We have seen episodes where Amber and Gary’s fighting has caused little Leah to cry and get upset herself. May of this year custody of Leah was taken away from Amber. Custody was taken away not because of the fighting, but because of the safety of Amber’s home. Amber had her car and home was both vandalized. To this day Gary still have custody of Leah. I would love to see Amber get her stuff together and be able to provide Leah with a safe home and a good environment.

Maci

While Amber is fighting for Leah, Maci is fighting to be on Dancing with the Stars. Maci, who is friends with Bistol Palin, is hoping to get asked to be in the next season of Dancing with the Stars. Maci has visited the set of DWTS before and she is a huge fan. Maci and Bistol became friends back in 2010 when they met at a foundation to prevent teen pregnancy. I think Maci would be awesome to DWTS. I don’t watch the show now, but I believe if Maci was on it I would watch and vote for her.

Teen Mom…drama free?

It’s Tuesday and that means it’s time for Teen Mom!!

Maci- So she’s going to be driving 2 hours to classes everyday. I could never do that!! That’s way too long to be driving!

Catelynn- Catelynn and Tyler think it would be a good idea for everyone to go to counseling so they can try and work out their family problems. I think that’s a pretty good idea.

Farrah- I still think it’s ridiculous that Derick’s mom (that’s Sophia’s grandma) wants to see Sophia. She should have no right because she said that her son was not Sophia’s dad.

Amber- Amber and Gary broke up yet again? Wow, I would have never guessed it!! Things aren’t looking to good with Amber and CPS. But I’m not surprised about that either.

Maci- Maci says she’s gonna move back home. That would only make sense because I think it’s crazy that she drives 4 hours everyday to get to and from class. For me that wouldn’t be worth it at all.

Amber- Amber’s lawyer called her and said that their meeting was moved to the police station. This might mean she is getting arrested.

Maci- I really want to see her and Kyle stay together so I hope that he moves to Chattanooga with Maci and Bentley.

Catelynn- Wow, her mom actually said to her that giving up Carly was the best decision she ever made. Her mom has never been supportive of when it came to Carly and the adoption, but now I guess she’s finally over all of that and sees that it was the right thing for Carly.

Maci- She’s going apartment searching in Chattanooga. What I don’t understand is that the first place she looked at was $850 a month but the one she got was $1,000 a month. I guess she didn’t like the first one because it had stairs. That’s what baby gates are for! But I guess she can afford $1,000 a month because of doing the show.

Catelynn- Catelynn and her mom went to counseling which I think went well.

Farrah- Everything got dismissed with the things going on with Derick’s mom, and she won’t be seeing Sophia. I’m really happy for them! She didn’t deserve it and she just wanted it so she could have her 15 minutes of fame.

Maci- When Kyle said “I have a secret”, I totally guessed it, that he quit his job! I’m so glad he did so that he can move in with Maci and Bentley!!

Well, another episode of Teen Mom is over. And I actually am not annoyed with any of the mom’s this week. That’s a shocker. It’s usually Amber that bugs me. I’d say this is the least amount of drama we’ve ever seen from an episode of Teen Mom. Thanks for reading! Leave me comments!!

Weekend Recap

I know it’s Tuesday, but better late than never, right? Alright so what did I do this past weekend? Saturday my fiancé drove me to work and then picked me up so we could go up to his cousin’s house right away. It was his cousin’s wife’s birthday party. After that we went over to his sister’s place and spent the night. The one thing that sucked was that the next day, Sunday, we had to wake up at 6, leave by 7, and then I had to work at 8. We went to bed around 12:30 so we got about 6 hours of sleep. I drank some coffee and didn’t feel too tired after that. After work my dad and step-mom came up for dinner and we had this…

chili12

That wasn’t the actual chili we had, but it looks pretty close. We had that same kind of cheese. My fiance made it and it was really good!!! It had a little bit of a kick to it, but maybe that was just me because I’m not into spicy things.

Last night, I met a girl that my fiance works with. Me, her, and a friend met at the bowling ally because they were having ladies night and it was free bowling from 6-9. What we didn’t know was that we had to go to a bunch of different venders and have them stamp or initial our paper so we could enter to win door prizes. That was fun though. I’m actually thinking about selling Scentsy, but I’m not sure yet. After we were done looking at all of the venders, and my new friend booked 2 different jewelry parties,  we went and bowled our 2 free games.

And now it is Tuesday. I was supposed to work at 12, but yesterday my manager asked if I could come in at 10. He said I might not work till 5 though, so that’s a plus!!

And don’t forget that I’m trying to get 300 followers and then I’ll do another giveaway!!! I’m at 273 right now so I only need 27 followers!  I’m going to see how many of my current followers can refer new followers to my blog. Here’s how it’s going to work:

When you refer someone, have them email me telling me that they were referred by you. And make sure they tell me your name or it won't count. Once I get to 300 followers, I will see who has the most referrals and then the top 3 will get to fill out the entry option on the Rafflecopter form called "Refer a friend", which will be worth 3 entries. I will be sure to email those 3 people so they can do that entry. And if anyone fills out that entry that isn't one of the top 3, I will delete those entries. I hope you all have fun with this and good luck!!!!

Have a great Tuesday everyone!!!!

Wedding Update

I don’t do many wedding updates, but maybe that’s because I don’t really have that much to update everyone on. We have decided our venue for the wedding and reception a few months ago and paid the deposit. Earlier today we met with a potential photographer to go over pricing and packages. I’m pretty sure we have the photographer narrowed down to 2 people so now we just have to meet up with the other photographer and see which one we can get the better deal from. I think the photography is the second most important thing about a wedding, right after the dress which is number one of course. So it is very important that we get the best possible deal we can.

I think there are 2 big factors in which photographer we will choose. One offers all day coverage while the other one offers either 5, 8, or 10 hours, and then it costs extra per every hour you go over. One of them gives you one photographer and the other gives you two, if you go with a certain package.

Another big factor is the price because after all, we need to make sure we can get the most for our money. But my fiancé and I have agreed, that if we are willing to splurge a little bit on our photography because it is a very important part of the wedding.

So now we just have have to wait until next week when we hear back from the other photographer so we can set up a time to meet with her. My fiancé is thinking we will go with the guy we met earlier today, but we just have to wait and see what the other one has to offer.

Do you have any advice for us? Is it worth it spending a little extra money if it means we have an unlimited time with the photographer? Is it necessary to have two photographers for a small wedding of less than 150?

Places I’m hopping…

I’ve decided to join some blog hops since I haven’t done that in a while. This is where you can find me today…

SodaStream Review

100_2086100_2109

A few months ago I received a unit called SodaStream. What does the SodaStream do, you might ask? It’s a machine that helps you take tap water and make your own soda! And all it takes are a few easy steps!! First you fill the carbonating bottle with cold water, push the tilt lever and screw the bottle into the machine, press the carbonating level in short presses until you hear a loud buzz, then you push the tilt level and unscrew the bottle, and pour in the sodamix flavor with the bottle tilted. Put the cap on tightly, shake gently, and enjoy your soda!
Besides saving money by not having to buy soda from the store, the SodaStream makes “healthier” soda. Now, soda by no means is healthy for you, but with the SodaStream, their more than 30 regular, diet, and caffeine-free sodamix flavors contain no high-fructose corn syrup. And the diet flavors are sweetened with Spenda, not aspartame. And look at this:
Nutrition
As you can see, if you are counting your calories, the SodaStream Cola definitely has less calories than Pepsi or Coca-Cola. There is also less sugar and caffeine which makes it a lot better for kids.
Another thing it is good for is the environment. It takes no batteries or electricity to use it. And there are no empty bottles or cans to recycle or throw away. So if you are looking for a way to save money and save the Earth, then look no further, the SodaStream soda maker is for you!!!
Here are the flavors I received with my maker:

With MyWater, you can make your own sparkling water. Or add it to non-carbonated water for just regular flavored water.

My newly painted lamp shade!!!

Back on June 26th in this post, I mentioned that me and my fiance went to Goodwill and I found a lamp. Well, I didn’t like the colors of it. It was purple (which is my favorite color) and green. I don’t hate the color green, but I just don’t like the combination of purple and green. Here is what the lamp looked like before.
BeforeLike I said before, the green just wasn’t doing it for me. So I got some paint and decided to paint over the green with pink!
After I love how it turned out!!! It would be perfect for a little girls’ room!!! This lamp is the only decorative thing we have in our room now, but it looks great!!! You know what would be perfect? To save this lamp for when I have a little girl!! I could give her a whole room filled with purple and pink things, starting with this lamp!!!
BeforeandafterSo, what do you think? This is the first item I’ve ever fixed up so let me know how I did!!

And don’t forget that I’m only 32 followers away from having another giveaway!!! I’m going to see how many of my current followers can refer new followers to my blog. Here’s how it’s going to work:
When you refer someone, have them email me telling me that they were referred by you. And make sure they tell me your name or it won't count. Pinteresting Wednesday

Alright, I’ve caved in and decided to see what Pinterest is all about. If you’ve never heard about it before, it’s a place where you can catalog pictures of things you like. You can get a lot of great ideas for things such as decorating, food, and projects. I’m definitely going to be using it to find ideas for my wedding!!! So I’m going to link up with Michelle for Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesdays, and share some of my favorite pins!

I saw some wedding pictures taken before with the brides wedding dress hung up with a hanger like this. I think that would be really cool to do at my wedding!!

I love this flower girl dress!!!!

This was meant to be for the chairs at the reception, but I would love to use something like this for the chairs at the ceremony. Or maybe at the reception, either would work and look great!

Here’s one more…I saw this idea before and it’s great that I’ll always have it saved on Pinterest. It’s a closet that was turned into a little book nook!!! I would love to make something like that someday!!

So if you haven’t joined Pinterest, go check it out!! the site is new so they are working on invites right now, but it shouldn’t take that long to get yours. I requested an invite last night and got an email from them in less than half an hour. Also, click on the link above to check out what other people are pinning! Have a great Wednesday!!!

It’s Tuesday night…which means it’s time for Teen Mom

Farrah- Now she is putting modeling on hold and is going to focus on her culinary degree. I think that is a smart idea because at least she won’t be away from Sophia for long periods of time.

Catelynn- Tyler’s dad is in trouble yet again. He just got out of jail after 8 months and him and Catelynn’s mom have a no contact agreement, but she wants to go pick him up from jail. Tyler is worried that that could cause trouble and cause his dad to go back to jail again, so he says he’s going to pick up his dad.

Maci- Kyle moved in with Maci and she wants him to meet Ryan, but he doesn’t want to. Bently’s birthday is coming up so hopefully there won’t be any drama at his birthday party.

Amber- The police want to question Amber and Gary because of the fighting and everything that went on last season. And Amber thinks that she would be going to jail for no reason at all?? I don’t know what happened in her mind, but she definitely has a reason to go to jail.

Farrah- She is meeting Derek's dad and step-mom. It is nice that they still want to have contact with Farrah and Sophia. It was sad hearing them talk about Derek and knowing that Sophia will never know her dad.

Amber- I’m kind of confused because I thought that last week they said they were done with each other while they were on vacation. They can’t make their minds up what they want to do with their relationship.

Farrah- So the DNA proved that Sophia is Derek’s child, but Sophia was denied the right to Social Security. Apparently he never acknowledged Sophia as his daughter to his mother and I guess she doesn’t like Farrah because she’s not helping her out with this. Side note, I’m really glad Farrah and her mom are getting along now because Farrah needs the support from her mom right now.

Maci- Ryan wants to have a separate birthday party and says it would be easier. I don’t see how having 2 parties rather than 1 would be easier for anyone. The two guys just need to suck it up and meet each other already.

Farrah- Wow…so Derek’s mom wants to be able to see Sophia. I don’t see why she wants to see her but she won’t help Farrah get the Social Security benefits she deserves. She’s pretty much saying, “This little girl isn’t my granddaughter, but I want to be able to see her.” Makes no sense at all!!!

Amber- Well, Amber said she’s done with Gary…this is what, the millionth time she’s said that? I don’t believe it because she’s said it before and they always got back together.

Well, so it ends another episode of Teen Mom. I’m seriously done with Amber. Her and Gary just bug me so much!! What did you think of this week’s episode?

It’s here!!!

My brand new laptop is finally here!!!

 100_2476100_2477100_2479

This is the second laptop that I have owned and I’m going to treat it like it’s my baby!!! And I am especially glad that I got my laptop when I did because the battery on my old one is completely dead. It won’t charge at all so as soon as you pull the plug, it turns off. I transferred some stuff over to the new laptop, but now I just have to wait till my fiancé gets off work so he can help me transfer my bookmarks from Firefox. Oh, and he said that I should have enough space on this laptop to put my iTunes music on, so he has to help me with that then. Last night when he looked in his email and saw the email saying my laptop, I felt like a little kid on Christmas Eve!! Now I feel like a little kid on Christmas day!! I just love how it looks and I love how it types!! Oh, and the webcam is nice! It’s got all these cool effects that I’ll have to play around with!

Snapshot_20110719
Look, now it looks like Christmas Day!! It’s raining presents!!! Snapshot_20110719_1

Look, I’m on a billboard!!!

Snapshot_20110719_2

Lol…alright, I’m done playing with that for now. I got some cleaning done earlier (except all of the dishes because I ran out of room to put the wet ones), so now I’m going to enjoy and explore my new laptop for a little bit!! Have a great rest of your day everyone!!

We have some more winners

My giveaway for the 5 Rafflecopter invite codes has ended and I’m pleased to announce the winners!! Congrats to Rebekah, Denise, Michele, Jackie, and Danielle. I have emailed all of you your invite codes. Enjoy!!

I said before that I’m going to do my next giveaway when I reach 300 followers. I am now 32 followers away from reaching that goal. Well, I’m going to see how many of my current followers can refer new followers to my blog. Here’s how it’s going to work:

When you refer someone, have them email me telling me that they were referred by you. And make sure they tell me your name or it won't count. I hope you all have fun with this and good luck!!!!

My fiancé tracked my new laptop this morning and left me a note before he went to work saying that it is out for delivery so I’m just waiting for that to arrive!!! Also, I’m going to be taking the after pictures of the lamp shade I painted so I’ll be posting about that sometime this week, so look out for that. Have a great Tuesday everyone!!!!

Has anyone ever seen Wildfire?

It was a show on ABC Family that ended in 2008 after 4 seasons. One of my friends from middle school got me into it because she loves horses. I only watched the first 2 seasons and then I don’t know what happened, but I just stopped watching it. Last year I don’t know what made me think about the show again, but I found it on Netflix. All 4 seasons are available to watch instantly. I got through most of the series last summer and just recently I’ve started watching it again. Well, I just finished watching the series finale and I gotta say that I’m really sad. I know that TV series can’t go on forever, but I wish they would have at least had one more season. I think even if you aren’t really that into horses, you could still love this show. So if you are subscribed to Netflix, I highly recommend checking out what Wildfire is all about. At least watch the pilot episode to check out what you are missing.

Are there any shows that you love that got cancelled and you would love to see more of the show? And I mean like, you’re dying to find out what happens to the characters next. Because that’s how I feel with Wildfire, I really want to know where things go from the last episode. But, I guess I’m just going to have to imagine on my own and create the rest of their story by myself. And I guess now I can take Wildfire out of my instant queue. And now I have to find another series that I can get into and watch every single episode of! Any suggestions??

Weekend Recap

Another week and weekend has come to an end. Nothing too interesting happened this weekend.

Friday night I finally finished painting the lamp shade from my lamp I got at Goodwill a few weeks ago (and that I blogged about here). I will post the before and after pictures sometime this week.

Saturday after work, my fiancé and I went down to my dad and step-mom’s for dinner. We’ve been alternating every other weekend for having each other over for dinner and this was our weekend to go down there. We had coconut chicken with macaroni and cheese and peas. And we also had cake for dessert which was delicious!! Then we went home and watched “No Strings Attached”. I thought it was really good!!! Now I wanna see “Friends With Benefits” which looks kind of similar to “No Strings Attached”. After the movie, my fiancé and I looked online for a new laptop for me!! The one I have now is 3 years old and hasn’t been working right for me recently, so it’s time for an upgrade. Plus, mine only has Windows XP on it, so I’d say I definitely need an upgrade. He ordered me an HP laptop that I should have by the end of the week!!!

Then earlier tonight we went down to my aunt’s house for my cousin’s birthday party. I decided to be mean to my cousin with his present. We got him a Kmart gift card so I wrapped the card then put it in a box stuffed with newspaper. Then I wrapped that box and put it in a bigger box. I put newspaper in the bigger box and my fiance filled a gatorade bottle with water to add weight to the box. Then I wrapped the big box. This definitely threw him off because he didn’t expect a gift card to be in the box.

Now it’s time to clip my coupons from the Sunday newspaper and scope out the deals. But like I said before, I’m not going shopping this week unless I can get stuff for under $1 per item of for free. Oh, and Big Brother is on so me and my fiance are watching that! Have a great Sunday night everyone!!!

Our vacation- {Part 5}

Well, this is the last part to the recap of me and my fiancé's vacation.
After checking out from the hotel around 9:00, we headed back to the boardwalk. We were a bit ahead of schedule here because we planned on checking out closer to 12 before going to the boardwalk. But oh well, we didn’t want to wait. So the first thing we did was check out an arcade. The big claw game with the Angry Birds stuffed animals was what drew in my fiancé! He is addicted to that game! The first time he tried to win a stuffed animal, he had it, but then the claw dropped it. Then the 2nd time, it stayed in the claw and he won!!! He loves his bird and will randomly throw it at me and say, “Angry Bird attack!!!” Lol…whatever makes him happy! :)100_2429The arcade was on a pier, so I go to take more awesome pictures of the beach!!!
100_2430
Me: “They don’t surf on the East coast"
lol…I had said that sometime during our trip and was proven wrong when we saw a bunch of surfers. I just never saw anyone surfing on an East coast beach before.

So, we left the boardwalk around noon to start our journey home. It’s hard to believe that a week ago right now, we were at the beach. I can’t wait till next year when we can go back and we can actually go into the casinos!!!! We really want to stay at one of the hotels on the boardwalk, so we’ll have to start saving our money sooner! I had said before that I thought we could do this trip with $300 or less, well, I think I was a little off. I’m not sure what the grand total is, but I’m sure it was closer to $400.
Well, I hope everyone enjoyed reading through and looking at the pictures of me and my fiance’s vacation. In case you missed any of the posts, you can check them all out here:
There are only a few days left for my Rafflecopter invite code giveaway, so make sure you check that out. Have a great Friday!!!!
Oh, one more quick thing…only 15 more days until I get to see these guys:

It’s finally starting to sink in that one of my childhood dreams will be coming true soon!!!!!
