At a loss for words…

Hey everyone! It seems like it’s been forever since I’ve blogged. I’m just so busy that I’m finding it hard to have time for blogging. I know I said that in my last post (and maybe the post before) but I’m going to try blogging more, starting today!

So let’s see…it’s Friday!!! Not that the day of the week means anything to me because I work pretty much all week. This week I had off Wednesday and Thursday though. Wednesday was the American Idol concert!!! I go to it every year with my mom and fiancé. It used to be just my mom, but since my fiancé got into Idol for me, he tags along, too. Here are some pictures from the concert.

So, that was the highlight of my week. Oh, I had another Scentsy party last night. I had 2 people show up to this one which is better than my launch party where no one showed up. And I have a total of 3 orders so far!! I should hopefully be getting 2 or 3 more before Tuesday!!!

It all comes down to this!!!

The Idol finale starts in 40 minutes!!! Right now I’m watching some red carpet footage online at americanidol.com. It’s really cool because there are 3 different cameras you can choose from to watch. You can even click and drag on the screen to look around a bit. I’m watching the one right in front of Didi Benami and Brandon Rogers (2 past Idol contestants for those who don’t know) who are interviewing people on the red carpet. It makes me wanna be there soooooo bad!!! I’ve been entering to win tickets to the finale for 9 years now (since season 2)!!!!! Maybe next year will be my year to win!

One hilarious part from the red carpet footage that I saw was when Lauren and Scotty showed up and Didi and Brandon were interviewing them for a little bit. Then all of a sudden, they got pulled away! There’s about half an hour till the finale starts now!!

So I think one of my favorite Idol finale tweets of the night comes from Casey Abrams. He tweeted: “@CAbramsAI10: Yo, watch Idol tonight. Someone gonna win, people gonna sing, stuff gonna happen.” I couldn’t have said it better myself!!

It is 8:00…time for the start of the Idol finale!!! We set a record last night with more than 122 million votes last night!!! That is crazy!!!

First up, we get a group song from the top 13. They sing “Born This Way'” by Lady Gaga!! What a great song!!! I love it!!! It’s a little preview of what we’ll see on the Idols Live Tour! We just won’t see 3 of the people though, because only the top 10 go on tour. I loved at the end of the song where Lauren and Scotty kept pushing each other out of the way to be in the very front of the group. It’s great to see that the Idol contestants kind of form a little family and get along so well!

Now they are going to show us some clips of the judges. They start with Randy, the only judge left that has been with Idol from day 1!!! One of Randy’s popular phrases of the season is “What is going on with this show?” Oh, and another big one was “_____ is in it to win it!!” Randy is crazy!!! He better not ever leave the show!

Ha…Ryan said he promises that he’ll get the results in before “your DVR’s stop this year”. I remember last year people were complaining because Idol went over 10:00 so anyone who DVRed Idol missed the very end of it.

The girls of the top 13 sang a medley of songs together. They started out by singing a few Beyonce songs and then, just as I thought, Beyonce came out on the stage. Her dancing is amazing!! I could never get my booty to move like that if I tried! So far that performance was my favorite of the night!!!

Steven Tyler…I wonder whose idea it was to have him on Idol. They got the most perfect person for Idol though. Now that he’s been on for a whole season, I can’t really imagine the show without him. He says the most random stuff!!!

It’s Jennifer’s turn…I love her! At first I didn’t know how it was going to be with her on the show. But right away I knew she was perfect for Idol. She’s been in the business herself so of course she knows what she is talking about. And her personality is wonderful!! Haha, they showed the moment when Casey kissed her on the cheek. That was great!!

TLC!!! Woah!!! I remember them from the 90s. I hope they sing “Waterfall”!!! First they sing “No Scrubs”, that was a good song, too!!! And now they are doing “Waterfall”. I bet most people who are younger than me wouldn’t know that TLC is actually missing a member. Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes died in a car accident in 2002. And now I know why their band was named TLC: Tionne, Lisa, and Crystal. That makes sense!!

Now Tim McGraw and Scotty are singing “Live Like You Were Dying”. This is a great song and it sounded great being sung by Scotty and Tim!!!!

A surprise is coming up next…I wonder what that could be.

Haha…the guy that had a great radio voice!! He’s showing us the bad moments from Idol this season.

I’m guessing the surprise was Jennifer Lopez dancing

Now Casey and James arguing over who’s elimination was the most shocking. I agree with James, I think his elimination was the most shocking. That was great when Pia came in with a “Most Shocking” sash on. She said “What are you guys talking about?” And they go “Nothing”. Then she’s like “That’s what I thought”.

The music video that Lauren and Scotty sang in was to Carrie Underwood’s song “Whenever You Remember”, another good song!!! They showed clips from past Ford music videos.

Wow!!! Lauren and Scotty got the keys to the Ford vehicle of their choice!! If I were one of them, I would choose the most expensive car that Ford sells!!

Of course, what would the Idol finale be like without Lady Gaga. What the heck is she wearing on her head though? There we go, she took it off, much better!

Lauren is singing “Before He Cheats”. I bet Carrie Underwood is going to come out and sing it with her!!!!! And she did!!! Carrie is one of my favorite Idol contestants ever!!! And she is so nice in person! I met her when I saw her in the American Idols Live tour back in 2005. It was right after the concert and I was waiting by the busses to see if any Idols would come out. The security guards were being mean and said we had to leave soon but there were a bunch that decided to stay, including me. And at that point my mom said we were gonna leave soon. Well, 10 minutes later is when this picture was taken:

Alright, so I can’t find the picture. I have it on photobucket but the link to it isn’t working. It was a great picture though! And she was so nice!! She was like “Where am I looking?” cause she wanted to make sure she was looking at the right camera!!

Alright, it is 9:55 and Steven Tyler is singing??? They need to get to the results as soon as he is done!! One thing they didn’t show this season was that they didn’t go to their hometown and talk to people they know. I know Mikalah Gordon (from season 4) is at Lauren’s hometown so I would have loved to see her tonight!

I just remembered something, my step-mom pointed out to me that Idol is on until 10:07, so that’s why we haven’t seen the results yet.

Alright….the winner of American Idol season 10 is…Scotty McCreery!!!! I loved during his song when he went out in the audience and hugged his family members. Well, Jack Black was going to be the next person Scotty would have hugged cause he was just standing there, but then Scotty just walked away and Jack put his hands out like “Hey, where’s my hug?”

Well, season 10 of Idol has come to an end. I’m okay with Scotty winning even though I wanted Lauren to win because I know she is still going to have a CD out, probably within a few weeks of Scotty putting out his.

A Country Showdown

Alright, it’s all come down to this!!! Lauren or Scotty, who’s it gonna be???

Their first round they are picking one of their favorite songs. Scotty is up first because he won the coin toss and decided to sing first. He chose to sing “Gone”. No judges comments?? That’s kind of weird. Ryan goes right to the numbers without going to the judges.

Lauren chose “Flat on the Floor” as her pick for her favorite song. It sounded amazing, just like it did the first time she sang it!!

I’m surprised that Scotty’s Idol is George Strait and not Josh Turner. He chose “Check Yes or No” for Scotty to sing. I really liked it!

I’m not surprised with Lauren’s Idol: Carrie Underwood. Carrie chose “Maybe It Was Memphis”. I never heard this song before but she did a great job with it! Her dress is so cute!! I’d probably change the color (to purple) but I love it!!

Now Ryan goes to the judges. I guess they are just trying to save time because they had to fit 6 songs into an hour. Last week when they did 6 songs, they did it in an hour and a half. Randy states the obvious and says “They’re in it to win it!!” Well of course they’re in it to win it, Randy, or else they wouldn’t be up there!!

Taio Cruz sang that perfect harmony song that people voted for online. I didn’t vote on it though. I have no idea what that whole thing was about. All I know is that I thought the chorus was really annoying. This is about the time that I turned on the TV and it was at the part of the song where he kept repeating “positive”. I was like, seriously? How many times does he have to say it??

Idol tour tickets…I gotta get…oh wait, I already did, Ryan!! 10th row!!!! I can’t wait!!!

Back to the singing now…for the final round they are singing the song that will be the winner’s debut single. Scotty's song is called “I Love You This Big”. The song is alright, not that big of a fan of it though.

Lauren’s song that would be her debut single if she sings is “Like My Mother Does”. If I’m thinking correctly, this is a Kristy Lee Cook song. Yup, it’s the same song. So I wanna know why Scotty gets a brand new song but Lauren doesn’t. That’s not really fair if you ask me. But, I guess Idol isn’t about fairness. I really hope Lauren wins!!! I really love that song and hope that she wins so that song can be released!!! I still think it’s awesome that Steven Tyler predicted Lauren would win and now she so close to winning!!!

And the final 2 contestants are…

So tonight was my 2nd day of class. We got out at 7:45 tonight, so I didn’t make it home in time for the beginning of Idol. And yet again, I messed up the taping of Idol and I forgot to turn off the VCR so it didn’t record. Oh well, I only missed the first 15 minutes. When I turned on the TV, they were showing Haley’s hometown visit. I didn’t miss Lauren or Scotty’s, so that’s all that matters!

After some group I’ve never heard of performed, it was time for Scotty to go home. That has to be the greatest feeling in the world going back to your hometown and actually seeing all of the support that you’re getting from everyone. Josh Turner surprised Scotty by coming out on stage with him as he was singing Josh’s song “Your Man”, the song he sang at his audition. Scotty was so surprised and I bet he loved that moment!!

Next up was Nicole Scherzinger performing. What does she have to do with Idol? I just don’t understand why Idol has all these random people on the show to perform. I guess they just use it as filler time, but they could at least get more past Idol contestants or something.

Up next we saw Lauren’s hometown visit! She is so cute and her personality reminds me of Kellie Pickler and Carrie Underwood. It was heartbreaking when she saw all the damage that has been caused by the storms. And the little kid she met that saved his family…so cute!! He pulled his brother out from some bricks!

The first person in the finale is….ugh, Ryan made us wait till after the commercial break!! I hate when he does that.

Alright, time for the results for real now…the first person in the finale is Scotty!!!!

And the second person in the finale is…Lauren!!!!! Yay!!! I am soooooo happy!!! I knew that Lauren would be in the finale. And I always thought it would be James or Scotty along side her. I just still can’t believe how far Haley has made it!! I thought she was going to be gone weeks ago!!

Well, that’s all I have for the results, I’m gonna go celebrate now!! Lol…not really, I’m not going anywhere. But I might do a happy dance!! Leave me comments!!

And then there were 3…

I can’t believe we are down to the final 3!!! And James isn’t there :( It should have been Haley that left!!! Or Scotty! But definitely not James!!

Scotty starts off the night with “Amazed” by Lonestar. I love this song and think that he’ll sound great doing it! And he did. But yet again, Scotty sounds good with any country song.

Next up was Lauren singing “Wild One” by Faith Hill. This wasn’t one of my favorite performances from her, but I thought it was alright.

Haley finishes up round 1 singing a Led Zeppelin song. Apparently she is the 2nd person (Adam Lambert was the 1st) to sing Led Zeppelin on Idol. If you’ve read my blog before, you know my feelings on Haley. Yes I like her now more than I did a few weeks ago, but I still don’t think she should be here.

Round 2…they are going to show the contestants’ auditions. It’s so weird to see their auditions now because it seems like that was forever ago!! Scotty sang “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not”, which is also a good song! I liked this one better than the first song. It was a perfect song choice for him!!

Next up is Lauren! I loved her audition!!! I loved how her parents came into the room and she sang some of “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” with Steven. She was only 6 when she first watched Idol!! Wow!!! That is still just really mind blowing that she was that young!!! I was 11 the first time I saw Idol, so that isn’t as young as Lauren. She is singing “If I Die Young” by The Band Perry. This is a great song as well and she sounded amazing! I really think she could win it all!!

I don’t remember Haley saying that she tried out for season 9 and made it to Hollywood.l I’ll have to see if I can find any footage of when she was on season 9. She sang “Rhiannon” which I had  never heard before. I didn’t like it. But how much do you wanna bet the judges are going to love it? And they did, they loved it.

So I could have done without the Beyonce video. My fiancé asked me if we could fast-forward it. I wish we could have!!

Scotty sings his last song of the night. I’m not much of a fan of it. But to be honest, I think he sounds the same in every single song he does. I still like him, I just don’t think he changes it up that much.

Lauren’s last song is “I Hope You Dance” and before she even sings it, I think it’s going to be a perfect song for her!!! That was one of my favorite songs from Lauren!!! She definitely won the round!!!!

Haley wraps up the night. I think the judges did a good job of picking a song for her. I thought this song was actually pretty good. It was my favorite song from her of the night. I still think that she won’t make it to the finale though.

We’re finally down to the final 3!!

So, this was supposed to get posted last night around 9:00,  but Blogger wasn’t working. Now it finally is, so here is what I wrote about Idol last night.

What a season it has been so far. Tonight we will find out who makes it to the top 3!! I was going to go for a bike ride with my dad and fiancé but then I just didn’t feel like it and I need to get some dishes done. So I’m going to do dishes, watch Idol, and write my thoughts on Idol, all at the same time!

Tonight we actually got a recap of the performances last night. I think that’s one of the few times that they showed a recap this season. Then James and Scotty sang a duet. Next up Haley and Lauren did a duet.

Then they showed the contestants video chatting with their family members using Windows 7. That was so cute when James’ son was singing the ABC’s. I was feeling tears in my eyes! That has to be really hard to be away from your family for that long.

Woah, they have gold chairs for the top 3! The first person in the top 3 is Lauren!!! Yay! I knew she would be safe!!!

It is now 8:36 and we still don’t know who else is going to be in the top 3. They could make this into a 30 minute show if they didn’t have all this useless stuff. When they have past Idol contestants on the show, that is fine. But did they really have to have Enrique perform? He wasn’t the mentor this week. Oh well.

And speaking of past Idol contestants, Jordin Sparks was on tonight!! I loved her intro!! It showed her winning idol, then played some songs from her previous CD’s. I love her new song “I Am Woman”! I’ve probably listened to it a couple hundred times since buying it on Tuesday! I kept listening to it over and over again on repeat! I’m so excited that she’s touring with New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys this summer cause I can’t wait to see her again!! She is the one Idol contestant that I would really love to meet!! I mean, I’d love to meet a lot of them, but she is at the top of my list!!! Haha, she went up to the judges when she was singing and she kissed Steven on the lips. Overall her performance was awesome!!! It’s hard to believe that she was only 16 when she won Idol!! And now, like her song says, she is a woman!

After the commercial break, they premiered Steven’s new music video. It is now 8:45. Come on, we just want to know the results!

Back to the results…I am shocked!!! Haley is in the top 3!!! Wow!!!! So now it will either be Scotty or James going home. I really hope it’s Scotty!!!

Noooooooo….what has America done??? I think this is worse than when Pia got voted off!! I thought that he could have made it to the finale. Now I really hope that Scotty and Lauren are in the finale. It’s not that I don’t like Haley, because I do a little bit, but James got robbed

Gaga Visits the Idols

I went for a bike ride at 8:00 with my fiancé and dad so I didn’t get to watch Idol live tonight. I found that I’m a little more out of shape than I thought I was. There were a few times where we came to a hill and I had to get off my bike and walk because I was that tired. Oh well. I’m hoping to go on a bike ride every night or at least every other night so eventually I’ll get more used to it.

I absolutely loved the beginning when they showed the past season’s contestants who got to go home once they were down to the top 3. I think that the 10th place spot is important because of being on the tour, but the 2nd most important spot is the top 3 because that is when they get to visit their hometown.

So James started round one with “Don’t Stop Believing”. Before he even starts singing it, I think it’s gonna be great!! And it was! That was one of my favorite performances from James and I hope he does it on tour!!

Up next was Haley with a Michael Jackson song. I thought it was alright. She’s been better than that. I hate to say it (sorry in advance, Ed) but I think that Haley is going to leave this week.

Next was Scotty singing “Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning”. That song was right in his element and he sounded great!!!

Lauren sang “Anyway”. I love this song and can see this fitting Lauren really well!! She sounded amazing!! She will definitely make it through tonight (regardless of what my fiancé says, he thinks she’s gonna leave. Crazy, right?)

I can’t believe that Randy outed Haley like that, saying that round one was a tie between Lauren, Scotty, and James. He should have just included her or just picked one person that he thought was the best so he didn’t single her out like that. I agree with Ryan, Randy is being a little mean tonight!

Lady Gaga is crazy! I can’t believe that she became popular in 2008. Has it really been that long? Gaga is crazy!! There has never been a performer quite like her and I doubt there ever will be again.

Haley starts off round 2 singing “I Who Have Nothing”. This immediately reminded me of when Jordin Sparks sang it! Side note for you…I was writing my labels for this post and as I was writing the contestants names, I wrote “Haley Scarnato” instead of “Haley Reinhart”, haha. Haley Scarnato was a past Idol contestant, and for some reason I thought that that was Haley’s last name. I thought that Haley did a great job with that song! It was definitely better than the first one!!!

Next was Scotty singing “Young Blood.” Gaga tells Scotty to pretend that the microphone is his girlfriend, point proven that Gaga is crazy!! He did a little better with holding the microphone the normal way, but he still held it to the side at times. I thought that this performance was alright. I liked his first song better though.

Lauren sang “Trouble”. I loved it!!! I remember Carrie Underwood singing this song on season 4 and I think it comes to a tie for which version is the best!! Lauren will definitely be safe this week, no doubt about it!!

James wrapped up the night with “Love Potion Number 9”. I don’t know if I heard that song before but I know there is a drink at Starbucks with that name. It’s something with raspberry I think. I thought it was great!! He’ll definitely be through to next week!!

So, I think it is going to be down to either Scotty or Haley. Lauren and James are definitely save! And then…(sorry, Ed) I think Haley is leaving us this week. Thanks for reading, leave me comments!

Tonight 5 becomes 4…

It’s time for yet another results show. I think this will be the first week of the season that they didn’t have an Idol alum sing on the results show. They couldn’t have run out of Idol alum because there are 9 seasons worth to choose from.

A first on Idol, the contestants went to Hell’s Kitchen with Gordon Ramsey and got to see what it’s like to be on that show. Lauren and Jacob made the best omelet. And Scotty’s was the worst, Gordon spit it out! There’s going to be more of them in Hell’s Kitchen later in the show so that should be interesting.

I think I know what Ryan is going to do with the groups tonight!!! He has James on one side and Lauren on the other. He is going to make two groups of two and then tell the last person they are safe. Then he is going to have that last person go to the group of two people that they think is safe. I remember one season they did this and the person that they told to go choose the group just sat down in the middle of the stage. They didn’t want to have to choose who they thought was the bottom 2 group. I can’t remember who that was so let me know if anyone knows it! We’ll have to see if that’s the way they do things tonight or if they will mix things up.

Now Jacob and Lauren get to do a blind taste test with Gordon. And Lauren won! Jacob thought that the hot dog was sausage, and said that a hot dog is a type of sausage. No it isn’t, Jacob!

Next Jennifer Lozez sang her new song “On the Floor”. I think the song is pretty good. My favorite part is when she says “Afrika!” The breakaway glass was awesome! I wonder how they did that cause it couldn’t have been real because that would have been dangerous. I thought it was funny that Randy, Steven, and Tyler were in the audience with a bowl of popcorn. And before Jennifer started singing, Steven and Randy were throwing popcorn at the TV and it was hitting the people in front of them. And then after she was done singing, one of them dumped the whole bucket of popcorn.

Back to the results…Jacob joined Lauren. Haley is next and she goes and stands beside James. So what I said was going to happen, just might happen. Scotty is…safe!! And so is James and Haley!! So that means that it is down to Jacob and Lauren. Jacob is definitely leaving because there is no way Lauren is leaving!! This better not be another repeat week of when Pia left!

The person leaving is…Jacob!!!! Now Haley will hopefully be leaving next week! Well, that’s all for now. What did you think of the results? Leave me comments!

Songs of now and then

The theme for tonight is songs of now and then, so the final 5 contestants will be singing two songs tonight.

First up is James singing “Closer to the Edge”. I think this is a great song for James! I absolutely loved it! I could see a song like that being on his CD! He is definitely in it to win it and I think he could!

Jacob was next with “No Air” by Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown. I love that song!!! I didn’t care for Jacob’s version of it too much though. I especially didn’t like the ending part. Like, the it sounded like he changed up the words at the end.  And even though he is only the second contestant singing tonight, I think he might leave this week. I definitely agree with Randy that he shouldn’t have done a song that is a duet and try to sing both parts. It just didn’t work out for him.

Lauren is singing “Flat on the Floor” by Carrie Underwood. I think she’s going to be awesome with this song! And she was amazing with that song!!!! That is one of my favorite songs from Lauren!!!

Next up was Scotty singing “Gone” by Montgomery Gentry. The only thing I didn’t like about it was that at times you could hear the background singers more than Scotty, but other than that I loved it!! I thought it was the perfect song for him!

Haley wrapped up the first round singing an unreleased Lady Gaga song. Let’s hope she doesn’t screw this up. This is big! It’s the first time that anyone is hearing it and it’s a Lady Gaga song!!! I really liked it! I mean, I can’t compare it to the original since I haven’t heard it, but I thought it sounded pretty good! She has the best advantage tonight because we can’t really compare her to anyone else since she sang a brand new song. I thought the judges were too harsh on her, saying she shouldn’t have sang that song because it was never heard by America before. I think she’s gonna be safe.

James’ second song was “Without You”. I remember Kelly Clarkson singing this song on the first season. This is going to be tough for him since the song is so emotional for him. I loved it!! We don’t see his soft side that much but when we do it sounds really good!!! I loved the close-up shot they got of him right at the very end. You could see the tears in his eyes. I didn’t even realize he was crying up until that point! That is a real performer when they can be crying during a song and fight back the emotions and not let it show.

Next was Jacob. I liked this song a lot better than the first one. This is more of Jacob’s style.

Lauren’s second song was “Unchained Melody”. I really liked it!! I liked the first one a little better though.

Up next was Scotty singing an Elvis song. He sang an Elvis song before and it was great so I think this one will be good as well. And he did a wonderful job with this song! I loved it!!

Haley wrapped up the night by being brave and starting off her song singing a capella. I thought she was really good!!

Alright, so as for who I think is leaving…I think it’s going to be Jacob, definitely. Lauren, James, and Scotty are definitely safe. So it’ll either be Jacob or Haley, but I’m going to say it is Jacob.
