What I’m Loving Wednesday

I’m LOVING that we finally got the pool up last Tuesday and I have been getting to enjoy it as much as possible!! Last Wednesday, a day after we put it up, we got a storm and lots of rain! I was so mad at the weather that day!! I worked 9-5 and was planning on going swimming the second I got home from work. I got in for about half an hour on Thursday and then on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday it was too cold to go swimming. But Monday, yesterday, and today, you can bet I was in it! Probably for about an hour or more each day.

I’m LOVING that me and my fiancé are going to the beach soon!!! We didn’t think we would make it to the beach this year cause we gotta save our money for the wedding, but since his mom lives near the beach, we are going to spend a few days with her. We don’t take that many pictures of the 2 of us anymore, but that is going to change this weekend!!!

I’m LOVING that I get to see my future sister in law on Friday!!! We are going to spend the day together and then she is spending the night and we’ll have most of Saturday to hangout, too!! It’s been a while since I’ve seen her so I’m excited!!!

And as always, I’m loving my wonderful fiancé and our 2 babies!!!

302 Days to Go!!!

It’s hard to believe that my wedding is about 10 months away!!!! In fact, exactly 10 months from now I will be married and on my honeymoon!!! And you know what the sad part is, we’ve been engaged for almost 2 years now and only have our venue and photography booked. And I have my dress! So we still have a lot of planning to do!!! I’ve been saying that a lot of that planning was going to get done this summer, but now I’m not too sure. Once I start student teaching at the end of August, there isn’t going to be any planning going on until the middle of December. Some things can probably wait until then, but we probably want to have most of our vendors booked before then, which means we should probably get them booked by August.

Here is the list of things we still need to book:

1. Officiant- I think we are going to have the mayor of our town marry us because my dad and step-mom know him. I just need to call him sometime to see if he is still available on our wedding day.

2. DJ- This is something we definitely want to book soon so that we can actually find one who is available. We met with someone who could do a 6 hour ceremony and reception for $650. And my mom knows some lady that could possibly do it so I’ll have to call her to see how much she would charge.

3. Cake- I think we are going to have the cake made at my work because the price is nice and I would get a discount!

Those are the 3 main things that need to be done still. I didn’t put catering in that because we have been thinking about doing that ourselves. We’ve had a few family members who said that they would help us make the food if that would be cheaper than getting it from somewhere. So I’m going to need to do some research and see if it actually will be cheaper.

Another thing we are skipping is the “Save the Dates”. We've been engaged for almost 2 years already and figure that everyone who we are going to be inviting to the wedding already knows we are getting married. So we are going to save some money and just send out the invitations a little bit earlier than you normally would to make up for not sending the “Save the Dates”.

So, that’s about all that’s going on for the wedding planning. Next week I only work on Thursday, so I’m going to take the extra time I have off to start looking more into wedding stuff. For now, I’m going to look at my Wedding ideas board on pinterest and decide if I’m going to actually use any of the ideas I pinned on there. Have a great Friday everyone!!!

The pool is finally up…again!

So, on Tuesday we got the pool liner delivered and that night we also got the sand delivered! We didn’t get quite enough though, so we had to go to Lowes to get more. Then we leveled the box out and it was ready for the pool! We got the pool up and started filling it around 8:30 pm. We let it run all night to save some time. I got up at 7:30 am yesterday (Wednesday) and it was almost filled!! Then, while I was at work, it started to storm and rain. Wait, let me rephrase that, it started to storm and pour!! It was pouring so hard at one point that you couldn’t see out the front windows. It was so windy!!! So that really bummed me out. I was looking forward to jumping in the pool when I got home. It really stank that we just got the pool up and now the weather was preventing us from enjoying it. And it is still preventing me from enjoying it cause it’s kinda cloudy outside right now. I just checked the temperature of the pool and it’s about 72 degrees. That is too cold!!! Oh, but last night, I did get in it for a minute or 2 and it was probably about the same temperature. It was just sprinkling a little bit and there was no lightning or thunder so I decided to get in for a little bit. I didn’t go under or anything, just walked around a little bit. I’m hoping that sometime soon I can actually go swim in it!

So anyway, here is the pool!!

100_4728 You can definitely tell that it is a lot more level than it was before. My fiancé said that the one side is off by about 4 inches in one spot and other are off by an inch, but that is a lot better than being off by 7 inches!!

This picture was taken was taken when the pool was up the first time. It was taken from the opposite side than the picture posted above. But you can see how the pool is leaning to the one side

Here’s to hoping that I get to swim soon!!! Have a great Thursday everyone!!

Pool update!

So, we should finally be getting the new pool liner today, yes…I said TODAY!!!! But, we won’t be able to get it up until tomorrow because we still have to get sand for under the pool. Last night my fiancé finished making the box that we are putting the pool in. Now we need to fill it with sand and level it out before we can set up the pool. I am really hoping that I will be swimming in the pool on Friday!!!!

This is the box that the pool will be in. The far end of it is the lower part so that will be filled with more sand than the other side.

Well, that’s all for now. The next pictures you will be seeing of the pool will be of it up and ready to be swam in!!! It stinks that it is the middle of July and it isn’t up, but I’m going to make the most of it and enjoy the rest of my summer with it!!! Have a great Tuesday everyone!!!

Oh, How Pinteresting!

This week, I decided to look through my DIY and For the Home pins and pick out the ones that I’d like to try and do before the end of the summer So here is what I have come up with.

This would look so much better than just seeing the trash can sitting at the end of the island. And it would keep Mia and Tigger out of the trash! They don’t get in it that often, but still.
I don’t know if my nightstand is thin enough for this, but I’ll have to give it a try.
Something also needs to be done with all the charging cords that we have.
I just recently bought a bunch of Stewarts soda from work on sale so this would be perfect!!!
This would be really cool!! And it doesn’t look that hard.

Not sure what I would do with it, but it would be cool to make!!

Hmm…

…what to write, what to write. I’m just at a loss of words and I don’t know why. I haven’t been blogging that much recently and again, I don’t know why. In my last post I think I wrote about how our pool got a hole in it. Or maybe I didn’t write about that, I don’t know. So we submitted a claim and will be getting another pool liner at no charge. Now we are just waiting for them to ship it out! The only good thing to come out of this is that we will be able to level out the ground more. My fiancé plotted a box with some string and we are going to get wood to put around the box. Then we are going to get that to be level and fill it with fill dirt. I’m hoping that by the end of next week, we will have the pool up and filled again!! It stinks that it is almost halfway through July already!! By the time we get it up, there won’t be that much of summer left!! I am definitely going to be in the pool every single day!!! Before work, after work, whenever I get the chance!!!

I was writing a post about last week’s episode of The Bachelorette, but my laptop died and when I turned it on, instead of resuming my session, it rebooted completely. So I lost that post and didn’t feel like rewriting it. I just got finished watching last night’s episode, and I can’t believe that it is almost over!!! And the final 2 guys are guys that I knew would be there in the end, Arie and Jef!!! I cannot imagine being in Emily’s shoes at the moment when she was faced with 3 guys and had to send one home. All 3 of them have told her that they love her and she probably felt the same way towards each one of them. I think the final episode where she has to send the last guy home will be one of the hardest days of her life!! But at the same time, it may be one of the best days of her life!

Right now I’m catching up on some of my other shows on my DVR including So You Think You Can Dance. I’m watching the episode where they revealed the top 20. I thought it was cool how they revealed them this year by showing us who made it on the live stage instead of how they did it on seasons past.

So that’s about it that’s going on with me. Since I can’t be out in the pool right now, I’m just taking this time to clean up the house a bit and relax. Oh and working, but this week I’m only working 3 days, one of them being a 12 hour shift! Have a great Tuesday everyone!!!

Wednesday, July 4, 2012

Hey there…

So, I haven’t been blogging that much recently. Here I thought that since it was summer and I don’t have any classes to worry about, that I’d get to blog more. Well, apparently I’ve been busier than I thought I would be. Sunday night and Monday night, 2 of my cousins spent the night and I just took them home last night. Now I have to work until 3 today and then my fiance and I are going to my aunt and uncle’s house for a 4th of July cookout. Then tomorrow I work a 12 hour shift, Friday work 4 hours, Saturday I work another 12 hours, and on Sunday I work 4 and a half. So I’m going to be pretty busy the next few days!!! It stinks that there are only 2 days out of the next 4 days that I can actually swim in my pool. But oh well, next week I’ll be able to swim in it everyday except for Sunday (another 12 hour shift).

I love all these 12 hour shifts I’m getting!!! The more money on my paycheck means the more I’ll have extra to put in the wedding account!!!! We are about 10 months away and there are still tons to do!!! The only things we have done is pick the venue and our photographer. Oh and I have my dress!! So there is still tons to do!!!! I need to start looking at things and see what can be done this summer because once the fall starts, I’m going to be busy with student teaching.

Well, I guess that’s about all for now. Please leave me your comments with what you would like to see more of on my blog. Happy 4th of July!! Have fun and be safe!!!
