Goodbye Mr. Stomach Bug!!

I’m finally starting to feel a lot better than I did this morning. I woke up around 2:30 not feeling so good (I’ll leave it at that and spare you the details.) I thought I would lay back down and feel better, but I thought wrong. I got up about 3 or 4 more times. So I had to miss going to school today and I felt really bad about it. Over the past 4 years, I’ve had a field experience every semester where I went out into a classroom and I had never missed a single day, until now. I really wanted to go today but I knew the right thing to do was to stay home and get better.

I’m glad that I am better now because I have a PRAXIS test to take tomorrow morning. That is something I can definitely not miss because then I would have to pay to take it again. The one thing that stinks about the test is that it takes 2 hours and when you are done, you can’t leave right away. You have to wait until the entire 2 hour period is over. And you aren’t even allowed to take a book to read! How crazy is that? I guess they just want us to sit there and twiddle our thumbs. I’m just hoping that it takes me all 2 hours to complete the test so I don’t have to sit there and do nothing.

Then after that I’m going to my fiancé's cousin’s house for his second-cousin’s birthday party. She just turned 3 today! And it is easy to remember how old she is and what year she was born because she was born a few weeks after me and my fiancé started dating.

Well, I guess that’s about all for now. I’ll leave you with a few pins that I pinned recently. Enjoy!

I recently started a board to post some poses I like for engagement pictures. Here is one I love! I definitely want to get a few that feature my gorgeous ring!

It finally came!!!

Today I finally received my Velata starter kit!!! What’s Velata you say? It’s simple and if you love chocolate, you will love Velata! Simply turn on the Velata Fondue Warmer, melt Velata chocolate in the microwave and pour into the warmer dish, then set out foods for dipping and have fun! Oh and I forgot to mention that this is a brand under the Scentsy umbrella. You may know Scentsy as the wickless candle company, but now they do more than just wax!

Here is the warmer that I received in my kit.100_4388

The dish that the chocolate goes in is made of silicone and dishwasher safe. It helps to distribute heat evenly and keeps the Velata chocolate at the perfect temperature. Also, there is no stirring necessary!

The chocolate flavors are: milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, and caramel milk chocolate. I’m sure they will be adding more flavors in the future!!

I love the cute bag that all the items fit into!

So there ya go…Velata! I haven’t gotten to try it out yet because I work until 9, but when I get home, I’m definitely going to be trying this out with marshmallows and pretzel sticks!!! The brand hasn’t officially launched yet, it will on May 1st, so I don’t have a website set up for it yet but I will share that with you all once it is up. So what do you think of Velata? Leave me comments!!

The rain didn’t stop us from walking…

Earlier today, I participated in the MS Walk with my fiance, one of my bridesmaids, my dad, step-mom, aunt, and another aunt, uncle, and 2 cousins. And yes…we walked in the rain! But it was alright, we were prepared with ponchos and umbrellas. We weren’t letting the rain get it our way from walking for a cure! Our team had only raised $110, but it’s better than nothing. After I did the walk last year, with just my fiance, dad, and mom, I said that I wanted to start raising money earlier for this year’s walk. Well, that never ended up happening. That is going to be different for next year. I think starting this fall I’m going to try to start raising money for next year’s walk. And I think I’m going to make this a yearly thing! If it weren’t for the rain, it would have been a whole lot of fun! I mean, it was fun, but the rain did get in the way a bit.

So anyone have any easy fundraising ideas? Leave me comments! Have a great rest of your Sunday!!!

Hello there allergies…

I’ve never had allergies as bad as I have them now!! It all started on Sunday with a sore throat. I didn’t think anything of it and just took a cough drop every few hours. Last night it was really sore but it feels a lot better now. Now the problem is that I can’t stop sneezing and my nose is running like crazy!!! I have to go to work at 4:30 and have no idea how I’m going to make it through my shift! I’m definitely taking a box of tissues with me! I just got back from Kmart and got Alavert. The one thing I’m worried about is that it’s going to make my throat sore again because I remember when I took it a few years ago it gave me a sore throat. Ugh…I just wish the medicine would kick in already! I’m going to look like Rudolph by the time I go to work. And I’m even using the tissues with lotion in them!!!!

Anyone else have really bad allergies? Any home remedies that can help out with them? Leave me comments and let me know!!! Have a great rest of your day!

Bridal Talk Tuesday- Favors

So I decided that from now until the wedding, I'm going to try and link up with Elizabeth at Life with Elizabeth every Tuesday for Bridal Talk Tuesday. "Try" is the keyword though...I'll post each week if I have time.

So this week the topic is favors. We haven't really discussed favors (or much else other than the venue and photography) so I have no idea what we are going to do for our favors. I saw this on pinterest and think it may be a possibility.

My fiancé proposed to me with a fortune cookie so I thought this would be perfect! And I don't think it would cost that much to make so that's another plus!

The only other thing I can think of to do for favors would be to make wedding shaped chocolates and put them in tiny baggies. But I don't know, maybe that's too original and done way too much. I'm sure I'll think of something eventually.

Got an idea for a cute favor? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Monday…

Linking up with Miscellany Monday

1. Finals week!!! I had one final today and have 3 left to go!! This weeks is going to be a breeze! My finals are at 9 am and only take me about an hour or so, so then I have the rest of the day to do whatever! Tomorrow will be a long day though because I still have class at 5:00. I guess I’m just going to stick around campus and study for my final on Wednesday. And when I get bored with that I’m sure I’ll find other things to do.

2. Velata!! I don’t think I mentioned this before, but Velata is the new brand that Scentsy recently came out with. They are still using the idea of warmers, but instead of warming wax, you warm chocolate! That’s right, it’s going to be a fondue experience like never before! Just simply pop the chocolate pouch in the microwave, pour it into silicone dish, and get to dipping! The 25-watt light bulb keeps the chocolate at the right temperature for dipping and it doesn’t scorch it. I checked my workstation this morning and my starter kit has shipped! Maybe I’ll get it this week!!

3. Dresses…I really need to buy 1 or 2 dresses that I can wear when I go out in the field in a week. I’m tired of wearing dress pants all the time so it would be nice to wear a dress every now and then. I’ve been looking online at Walmart, Kmart, Old Navy, JCPenny, and Kohls for dresses, but I can’t seem to find any that are quite long enough. Maybe I’ll just go to one of those places sometime and see what I find in the store.

4. Pinterest! Here are some recent pins that I’ve pinned.

I have to buy this book so I can read it on my first day of student teaching in the fall!!!

I wish my fridge could look like this!!

Tissue box turned into a remote holder…I so need to do this!!

We have a stump near our garden so this would be an awesome idea!

Happy 3 year anniversary to me and my fiancé!!!

Our anniversary was actually on Thursday, the 12th, but I didn’t have time to post then. We went out to eat at TGIF and then went to Target to start our wedding registry! We wanted to go to JCPenny, too, since we were close to there, but here they don’t have the scanner that you walk around with and scan things. Target has that though, so we got to walk around and scan barcodes of things to add to our registry. That was fun! I’ve been waiting to do that! Someday I’ll get to do it again when I’m setting up a baby registry! But that won’t be for a few more years.

So anyway, today I surprised him with a trip to Hersheypark for our anniversary. It’s a little cheaper to get it now compared to what it is in the summer, so I figured we would go now since I don’t know if we’ll make it there this summer. So we got in his car and I just told him where to go. Well, it turns out he figured out where we were going a few days ago but he didn’t tell me his guess. Oh well, we still had a great time even if it wasn’t a complete surprise.

I can’t believe it’s only been 3 years that we’ve been together!!! It seems like we’ve known each other for so much longer!! And I also can’t believe that in 399 days we will be getting married!!!! This next year is going to go by so fast!!! So I want to say thank you to my fiancé for being the best fiancé ever and for being there for me! I love you sooooooooo much!!!!

Have a great rest of your weekend everyone!!!

Wedding Help!

So…I need any advice I can get on how to do a wedding as cheaply as possible. My fiancé and I kinda went overboard with the venue and photography, so now we are trying to get everything else to be as cheap as possible. The wedding is in May of 2013 so we’re figuring about 11 or so more months to save money because probably around this time next year everything will be due. So if anyone has any advice on how to do a wedding cheap, that would be fantastic! Thank you in advance!!

Titanic in 3D…

Last week my fiancé and I went to see Titanic in 3D and it was amazing!!! I’ve seen the movie about a million times before, but this was the first time I saw it on the big screen. And I think it may have been the first time I saw it every single second of it, all 11,640 of them (that’s 3 hours and 14 minutes in seconds). And the 3D aspect of it made some scenes so realistic it felt like you were there. Recently I’ve started to have an obsession about Titanic and now I feel like that obsession is even bigger. Every time I see a commercial for the movie I freak out! I just love the movie and will never get tired of seeing it! Just thinking about all the “what ifs” with the whole situation and what could have happened if some things were different. It is amazing and there are definitely some lessons you can learn from the movie.

And the love story…who doesn’t love a love story, right? I know that Jack and Rose aren’t real but in my mind they are completely real! I could watch this movie over and over again!! I am definitely going to be buying it on DVD eventually! And I’ll have to watch it with my step-mom because she has never seen it before!! Crazy, right? And it’s also crazy that I just found out my aunt never read To Kill a Mockingbird! That was a requirement in school for me! And it was written before she went to school so I’m just surprised that she didn’t have to read it. Well, I hope everyone had a great Easter and spent time with their families! Leave me some comments about Titanic or anything else you like!
