Goodbye Google Reader!

The other day when I read that Google Reader was being shut down, I gotta admit I was freaking out a little bit! Google Reader is how I read all the amazing blogs that I follow!! I had no idea how I was going to continue reading all of the blogs I follow. But I just read a post about bloglovin’! And let me tell you, if you haven’t checked out this site yet, you have to!! I looked for other sites to replace Google Reader and this one is by far the best out there! So I’ve added a link to the left side of my blog so you can still follow me once Google Reader is gone. What I’m Loving Wednesday

I didn’t get to do a weekend recap, so this post is going to be both that and What I’m Loving Wednesday.

I’m LOVING that my fiancé and I finally got to go check out the new and improved pool on Friday night! It was a last minute decision to go to the pool because originally his friend and his friend’s girlfriend were going to come over for game night, but they couldn’t make it. So we hit up the pool around 5:00 when it was half-price to get in!

The water slide was awesome!!! When I went down it, I didn’t know when it was going to end! It lasted a lot longer than I expected! The rock climbing wall was really cool, too!     

This is the bigger pool down below. They made it a little smaller and added a little picnic area and some umbrellas.    

I’m LOVING that it was nice outside this past weekend. On Saturday, my dad and step-mom came over for dinner and it was nice enough that we sat outside to eat. My fiancé made chili and cornbread muffins and it was amazing!! Then after dinner, we continued to sit outside for a little bit. I love sitting outside on the deck!

I’m LOVING that I’m working a total of 6 days this week!! And yesterday I got an extra hour in! The more hours I get each week, means more money I can put towards the wedding!

I’m LOVING the Sims 3 Pets game that my wonderful fiancé bought me last night! And I have decided that I am going to use it as an incentive for myself, otherwise I will be playing it 24/7 (well, when I’m not working). I’m going to tell myself that I can only play it after I do some housework. Like right now…I have to go unload and reload the dishwasher then fold some wash from Saturday, and then I will play some Sims!! I created a crazy cat lady last night! So far she has 4 cats, but I’m going to get her as many cats as the game allows. Have a great Wednesday everyone!!!

Weekend Recap

Another week and weekend has come to an end. Nothing too interesting happened this weekend.

Friday night I finally finished painting the lamp shade from my lamp I got at Goodwill a few weeks ago (and that I blogged about here). I will post the before and after pictures sometime this week.

Saturday after work, my fiancé and I went down to my dad and step-mom’s for dinner. We’ve been alternating every other weekend for having each other over for dinner and this was our weekend to go down there. We had coconut chicken with macaroni and cheese and peas. And we also had cake for dessert which was delicious!! Then we went home and watched “No Strings Attached”. I thought it was really good!!! Now I wanna see “Friends With Benefits” which looks kind of similar to “No Strings Attached”. After the movie, my fiancé and I looked online for a new laptop for me!! The one I have now is 3 years old and hasn’t been working right for me recently, so it’s time for an upgrade. Plus, mine only has Windows XP on it, so I’d say I definitely need an upgrade. He ordered me an HP laptop that I should have by the end of the week!!!

Then earlier tonight we went down to my aunt’s house for my cousin’s birthday party. I decided to be mean to my cousin with his present. We got him a Kmart gift card so I wrapped the card then put it in a box stuffed with newspaper. Then I wrapped that box and put it in a bigger box. I put newspaper in the bigger box and my fiance filled a gatorade bottle with water to add weight to the box. Then I wrapped the big box. This definitely threw him off because he didn’t expect a gift card to be in the box.

Now it’s time to clip my coupons from the Sunday newspaper and scope out the deals. But like I said before, I’m not going shopping this week unless I can get stuff for under $1 per item of for free. Oh, and Big Brother is on so me and my fiance are watching that! Have a great Sunday night everyone!!!

Weekend Recap

Another weekend has come to an end. Friday night I did my first shopping as an extreme couponing! If you missed that post, be sure to check it out here. My fiancé and I also stopped by the Goodwill near us because it had just reopened. It got burned down in a fire back in 2009 and was relocated somewhere else temporarily. Well, Friday was the new grand opening at it’s original location. I wanted to stop by and look for a lamp because I need one to put beside our bed so I can read before bed. I found one but I think I’m going to make it my next DIY project. It’s mostly purple with some green on it but I’m not a fan of the green. So I’m going to get some fabric paint sometime and then fix that up.

On Saturday I worked from 8-4. It was an okay day at work, slow in the morning but busier around lunch time. Then me, my fiancé, and step-mom went to see Cars 2!! I thought the movie was awesome!! It was definitely action-packed from the very beginning!! There were also a ton of previews for movies that I want to see. This Christmas, there will be another Alvin and the Chipmunks movie. The Smurfs Movie comes out sometime this summer. And I really want to see Winnie the Pooh!!

Today, I worked from 8-4 yet again. Then I went right from work to the Dollar Tree to get my 2 newspapers. I also had to go to the grocery store to get an apple and some onions for dinner. I made a recipe from Betty Crocker called Impossibly Easy Ham and Cheddar Pie. It had an apple in it but you could hardly taste it. It was really good!!! We had my dad and step-mom up for dinner and they liked it as well. I made a strawberry cake with chocolate icing for dessert. Usually when I make a cake, I wait a few hours or even overnight before I put the icing on because otherwise I ruin the cake. My step-mom said that you can put the icing on the cake an hour and a half after it comes out of the oven. My fiance really wanted a piece of the cake so he tried to cool it off by holding it in front of the AC.

Well, that was my weekend. Now I have to do some dishes and then organize my coupons and look at the ads! I hope everyone had a good weekend!

10 Reasons I hope the world doesn’t end today

I saw this post in my Google Reader as I was going through blog posts from the blogs I follow, and I figured I’d do my own post like that one. I’m not one of those crazy people that actually think the world is going to end, but just for the heck of it I want to make a list of 10 reasons of why I hope the world doesn’t end today.

1. My wedding is in 2 years!!

2. The American Idol finale is next week!

3. I’m going to see the Backstreet Boys this summer!!!

4. I’m going to see the American Idols Live tour this summer and am sitting 10 rows away from the stage!!!

5. Breaking Dawn part 1 comes out this fall!!

6. The Glee season finale is next week!!!

7. I have to catch up on this past season of Bones!!

8. I didn’t have kids yet!

9. I wouldn’t get to blog anymore!!

10. The 3 years I’ve spent in college would be for nothing!!!

 

Again, I don’t really think the world is going to end, but those are just some of the things I would miss if it did. Of course I would also miss my friends and family as well!! Have a great weekend everyone and leave me comments! :)

 

Rain rain, go away!

I really wish it would stop raining. But hey, April showers bring May flowers. I really hope that is the case because in May me, my fiancé, and step-mom have to go back to the wedding venue we looked at back in March because we wanna see it when the trees and flowers are blooming! I just really want some consistency when it comes to the weather. I’m kind of getting whiplash here! It’s hot and sunny out one day then it’s raining, then it’s hot and sunny out the next and then it’s raining then…I think you get the point.

I’m so excited for getting off work today because my fiancé and I are going up to see his family. I haven’t seen them since Christmas!!! Well, I guess that’s about all I have for now. Have a great Saturday everyone!!!
