11 days!!

I can’t believe that the wedding is only 11 days away now!! Things are moving right along and we have almost everything done!

It has been a little over a week since we got rid of the cable and DVR and I’m not missing it at all. I can still watch all the shows I used to record and watch. Plus I’ve started watching some shows that I may not have seen every episode of, such as Reba and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. My future-sister-in-law got me into Grey’s Anatomy and I finally finished the first season of it and am on the second!

This is a busy week for me with work. I’m subbing every day this week with today being my only half day. Then I also work my second job every night this week, except for last night. Then on Saturday I have a vendor show with Scentsy all day. Saturday night I’m going out with B and some of his friends to celebrate a 21st birthday, so that should be fun! After that I work 3 more days and then I’m off for a week!!! I may not be bloggng that much within the next few weeks but I will definitely post all about it when I get the chance! 22 days!!!

It’s been a while since I posted about the wedding. I can’t believe it is 22 days away!!! Today I am getting my trial makeup session done and…picking up my dress!!! I am so excited to try it on one last time before the big day!!

It is now that I am starting to freak out a little bit because I am now realizing how much stuff still needs to get done and how little time we have left! (3 weeks!!!!) The most important thing we need to do is go get our marriage license. We have to be at the place by 4:15 to get it and most nights B is only getting off work around 4. But we’ll figure it out. Hopefully there is time today to get it in-between me getting my trial make up done and picking up my dress.

I just still can’t believe that after being engaged for about 2 years and 9 months…the big day is less than a month away!! It has been a looooong wait and a wait that will definitely be worth it in the end!!! Any advice for a bride with 3 weeks to go until the big day? There it is!

Spring weather is finally here!! I had a half day of subbing this afternoon and when I walked outside to go to my car and leave…I was surprisingly shocked at how warm it was outside!! I was kinda bummed that I had to sub and work inside. But it was just a few hours and was over before I knew it. I loved driving home with my windows down!!

Then B made sausage on the grill and some tater tots in the deep fryer! We didn’t eat outside though because we have too many things to watch on our DVR. Maybe tomorrow night we can eat outside if it is nice out.

I had an awesome weekend that started with me spending the night at the airsoft field with B and his team Friday night. Then Saturday they had a scenario game that lasted about 11 hours!!! For the whole day, I followed around their photographer and got to see exactly what B does when he goes off and plays airsoft. It was awesome and I’m going to go again in June!!! His team and friends are great and I always have a good time when I’m around them!

I have a pretty easy rest of the week. I work at my cashier job tomorrow for 6 hours. Then I’m off from both jobs on Wednesday, full day of subbing and cashiering on Thursday, and a half day of subbing Friday with a cashier shift at night.

Then…on Saturday is my bridal shower and bachelorette party!!! I’m so excited to see who all is going to be there! I already know some people to expect but I don’t know who all will be there, so it’s cool that I will be somewhat surprised!! I’m so excited that I have off work on both Saturday and Sunday!! I haven’t had a full weekend off in so long!!!

Zumba!

A few months ago, B and I decided to trade in our Wii because we didn’t use it that much at all. We have an Xbox with Kinect that we use a little more than the Wii, but not a lot. But when we traded in the Wii, we got some Xbox games. I got Just Dance 4 and Zumba! I said I was going to play either game at least every other day…but that hasn’t happened. Well…this past Thursday I just started doing Zumba and I am going to do at least 20 minutes of it every day if I can. It just gives me so much energy!! After I’m finished with a workout, I feel so pumped up and ready to go!! It is going to be great to come home from a subbing job and do some Zumba before I go do a cashier shift at night. I just feel like I’m going to feel a little more awake with a 20 minute workout. I can’t wait until it gets warmer outside because then I can start going for bike rides and maybe even go for a run every now and then.
It’s not that I want or need to lose weight. I’m perfectly fine with my weight. I just want to get in shape. And I’m actually hoping I don’t lose too much weight because I already went for my first dress fitting and I don’t go back until April 26th to pick it up. I hope it still fits me perfectly and isn’t a little big.
And speaking of my wedding dress and wedding…it’s 7 weeks away!!! I can’t believe it! I went with my step-mom and aunt last night to go get flowers but it turned out that the place we went to changed its hours and was closed by the time we go there. So now we’re going back on April 2nd. I can’t wait!! I found this bouquet on Pinterest and I want to try to find flowers like it!!

Well, that’s all I’ve got for now. I’m looking forward to my early shift tomorrow, 7:30-3:30 pm. I like shifts like that because it doesn’t take up the whole day and night. Today I worked 10:30-6:30 and it wasn’t until about 7:30 that I had dinner ready and B and I were eating. Oh well, I had a kind of late lunch so I wasn’t hungry until 7:30 anyway. What I’m Loving Wednesday

I’m LOVING that we finally have found an officiant!!! See…we had one, but then when we switched the venue the time also go changed so that person couldn’t marry us because of a time confliction. Well then we were left with less than 10 weeks to go and no one to marry us. My awesome step-mom found someone yesterday and I’m sending the deposit and form to the person tomorrow!! Go figure that the one huge problem we would have with the wedding planning would be with the officiant, which is kinda a huge part of the whole wedding!!!

I’m LOVING that I finally get to sleep in tomorrow!! It’s another full week of subbing for me with tomorrow being the only half day of the week and it’s in the afternoon. 5 days of subbing in a row is rough because I’m still working my other job on the weekend so if I have a full week of subbing, that’s a lot of days of me working with no days off!!!

I’m LOVING the new season of Hell’s Kitchen. B and I started watching it earlier tonight and this looks like it’s going to be a great season!! We were 12 minutes in and we were on the edge of our seats!! We’ll have to wait until Friday night to finish the rest of the 2 hour premiere though.

And as always, I’m LOVING my wonderful fiance and our cats!! I’ve been picture crazy with the cats recently so here are some recent pics I took.

I have no idea what she was doing here. I kept calling her name and she wouldn’t even flinch. And she stayed in this position for a good minute or so.

Where is the snow?

Well, the weathermen were wrong about the forecast yet again. They said we were going to get up to possibly 12 inches of snow on Wednesday but instead we got nothing!! And get this, most of the school districts in my area had a snow day!! A snow day but no snow! That must have been very disappointing for the kids who thought they would get to go sledding or make snowmen. It didn’t really make much of a difference for me because I didn’t have a subbing job that day. . All I had planned was my first dress fitting! And thanks to the snow not coming, I was still able to go!! It felt amazing putting that dress on again!

Speaking of my wedding dress, I  can’t believe that B and I’s wedding is exactly 10 weeks away!!!! 10 weeks away from this exact moment we will be married and dancing away at our reception!!! I should probably be freaking out a little more than I am because I know that a lot still needs to get done, but I guess it just hasn’t caught up to me yet of how soon it actually is! I’d say in about a week or 2 from now that I’ll be freaking out!! One thing we really need to get confirmed is who is marrying us. When we changed venues the time of our wedding also got changed by an hour, so now the person that was going to marry us can’t because he has other plans that day. We have one possible person lined up but have to call her on Monday to see if she is available. Fingers crossed that she still is!!

It’s already March??!!??

Wow…this year seems like it’s just flying by!! It feels like just yesterday it was New Year’s day and now here we are, the third month of the year. So far it has been a pretty good year. Here’s a quick recap of my 2013 so far:

January:

On January 2nd I officially became a substitute teacher! Also on that day, one of my bridesmaids and I picked the dress for her and the other bridesmaids.

January 8th I had my first subbing job! It was only a half day, but still. Since then I’ve been getting a lot of subbing in, about 3 or 4 a week.

January 28th I turned 23…nothing really too special about that. B took me out to eat and only had to pay for himself because you get a free meal on your birthday there!! It stinks that neither of our birthdays will fall on a Saturday or Sunday anytime soon because we really want to go there for breakfast sometime!!

Oh, and I forget the exact date of this, but we went on our first date of the year from the “12 Dates of Christmas” that I gave B for Christmas. We went ice skating!!

February:

We finally secured a place for our reception!!! With it being about 3 months till the wedding in February, we were getting kind of nervous about where we were going to have the reception! We even considered our backyard!!! But luckily it didn’t have to come to that.

We finally figured out the timeline for our wedding. Our wonderful photographer met with us and pretty much planned the whole day out for us. He has gone above and beyond for us and we couldn’t be more grateful for that!!

We had our cake consultation and decided on what kind of cake we are having and what it is going to look like! I still need to decide what flowers we are using so I can tell them what kind of flowers I want on the cake and I need to get them swatches of color so they can match it to the cake.

And the last wedding thing that happened in February…I did my trial run for my hair. I really like how it turned out, but I might change one thing about it. I’m not telling though, because I’m not sure if B will read this and I want to keep it a secret from him.

And that’s about all the exciting things that have happened this year so far. We’re only 63 days into the year and I know that the best days of the year are yet to come! One of those days is 75 days away!!! I still can’t believe that it is almost here!! It will be here before I know it!!

Well, that’s all I’ve got for now. I’m going to go pin away on Pinterest until 8:00 when an all-new Switched at Birth comes on!! According to the previews, it will “change the way you see the world”. So stay tuned for a post about that! Have a great Monday night everyone!!

Friday’s Letters

So it’s been a while since I wrote a “Friday’s Letters” posts and I’ve got a few things to write for it, so here goes…

Dear Vistaprint: Thank you for shipping our invitations to us a week before you said we would get them! Dear B: Please get me the remaining 2 addresses we need ASAP so I can send out the invitations! Dear weekend: It’s kinda awesome you are here, but not really because I work day shifts on both Saturday and Sunday.  Dear spring: Please get here soon, I can’t take much more of this freezing cold weather!!! Dear May 18th: I would like you to get here even faster!!!

99 days to go!!!

We are finally in the double-digits for how many days are left until me and B’s wedding!!! I can’t believe it!! We got engaged in August of 2010 so it’s so hard to believe that we will be getting married in 99 days!!! I remember when it was like, over 800 days away!!!

So here’s where we’re at for our planning:

We’ve had our photographer for a while now, so that’s taken care of.

I have my dress and all the bridesmaids dresses and the flower girl dresses are ordered. We just need to figure out where we are getting all the tuxes from now.

We have the venue for the ceremony and reception. I just met with someone from the reception venue and got all the details worked out. Now we just need to decide on a time

We have the catering and menu. We still need to go in for a consultation for our cake, but they only need 4 weeks notice.

Now we need to order the invitations so that we can get them sent out.

And we need to buy the flowers.

We also need to figure out what decorations we need for the gazebo we are getting married in and the reception hall. My step-mom is making the centerpieces and my mom is going to get some buttermints for the favor boxes that she got.

So we are moving right along with our planning! We just need to figure out what time we are having the ceremony and reception and then we can order the invitations!! My goal is to have them sent out by March 1st, which is 3 weeks from now. That means that I have to order soon because they have to get to us first and then we’ll address them and send them out.

I just can’t believe that this is all coming together!!! I am so excited to say “I do” to the love of my life!!! Have a great Friday everyone!!!

What I’m Loving Wednesday

It’s Wednesday again…this week is going by fast!!!

I’m LOVING that today I get my first real paycheck from subbing!!! The first one I got only had one half day on it because it was near the end of a pay period, so that paycheck doesn’t really count. This second paycheck has 5 full days worth of subbing on it (some were full days and some were half) and I checked my account online, and it is over $400!!!! And I’m getting paid from my other job tomorrow, so that is awesome!!!

I’m LOVING that my local radio station finally opened up the voting for the cutest couple!!! They do this every year and we have yet to win. It’s more like a popularity contest though. Whoever has the most friends and family wins. But oh well, I’m still gonna try. Click on the picture below. Then you will have to enter your email and sign up. 302 Days to Go!!!

It’s hard to believe that my wedding is about 10 months away!!!! In fact, exactly 10 months from now I will be married and on my honeymoon!!! And you know what the sad part is, we’ve been engaged for almost 2 years now and only have our venue and photography booked. And I have my dress! So we still have a lot of planning to do!!! I’ve been saying that a lot of that planning was going to get done this summer, but now I’m not too sure. Once I start student teaching at the end of August, there isn’t going to be any planning going on until the middle of December. Some things can probably wait until then, but we probably want to have most of our vendors booked before then, which means we should probably get them booked by August.

Here is the list of things we still need to book:

1. Officiant- I think we are going to have the mayor of our town marry us because my dad and step-mom know him. I just need to call him sometime to see if he is still available on our wedding day.

2. DJ- This is something we definitely want to book soon so that we can actually find one who is available. We met with someone who could do a 6 hour ceremony and reception for $650. And my mom knows some lady that could possibly do it so I’ll have to call her to see how much she would charge.

3. Cake- I think we are going to have the cake made at my work because the price is nice and I would get a discount!

Those are the 3 main things that need to be done still. I didn’t put catering in that because we have been thinking about doing that ourselves. We’ve had a few family members who said that they would help us make the food if that would be cheaper than getting it from somewhere. So I’m going to need to do some research and see if it actually will be cheaper.

Another thing we are skipping is the “Save the Dates”. We've been engaged for almost 2 years already and figure that everyone who we are going to be inviting to the wedding already knows we are getting married. So we are going to save some money and just send out the invitations a little bit earlier than you normally would to make up for not sending the “Save the Dates”.

So, that’s about all that’s going on for the wedding planning. Next week I only work on Thursday, so I’m going to take the extra time I have off to start looking more into wedding stuff. For now, I’m going to look at my Wedding ideas board on pinterest and decide if I’m going to actually use any of the ideas I pinned on there. Have a great Friday everyone!!!

Hey there…

So, I haven’t been blogging that much recently. Here I thought that since it was summer and I don’t have any classes to worry about, that I’d get to blog more. Well, apparently I’ve been busier than I thought I would be. Sunday night and Monday night, 2 of my cousins spent the night and I just took them home last night. Now I have to work until 3 today and then my fiance and I are going to my aunt and uncle’s house for a 4th of July cookout. Then tomorrow I work a 12 hour shift, Friday work 4 hours, Saturday I work another 12 hours, and on Sunday I work 4 and a half. So I’m going to be pretty busy the next few days!!! It stinks that there are only 2 days out of the next 4 days that I can actually swim in my pool. But oh well, next week I’ll be able to swim in it everyday except for Sunday (another 12 hour shift).

I love all these 12 hour shifts I’m getting!!! The more money on my paycheck means the more I’ll have extra to put in the wedding account!!!! We are about 10 months away and there are still tons to do!!! The only things we have done is pick the venue and our photographer. Oh and I have my dress!! So there is still tons to do!!!! I need to start looking at things and see what can be done this summer because once the fall starts, I’m going to be busy with student teaching.

I’m LOVING that I found my wedding dress this past Sunday. If you missed it, you can check out my post about it here. I can’t wait to try it on again!! On my wedding day, I’m never going to want to take it off!!!

I’m LOVING that I picked up an extra shift at work last night and I’m working an extra shift this coming Saturday. Before the semester ended, I kept saying that I was going to pick up every extra shift I could and until now, there haven’t been any shifts to take. I guess there are just a lot of college students back for the summer so there aren’t that many extra hours to give away.

I’m LOVING that my garden is starting to bloom! I went out and took some pictures yesterday afternoon…

365 Days Left!!!!

It is officially 365 days left until my wedding day!!!! I can’t believe it!!! When I went to the Knot and saw this page, I was so happy!!!

I have been waiting for the Knot to tell me there were 365 days left for a while now!!! I’m in a music mood right now so I’m working on the wedding song playlist a little bit.  So far this is what I’ve got:
1. Worth the Wait by Jared Campbell. If you have never heard of him, you have to check his music out at his website. He is awesome! This song is going to be playing during our first dance!

What are you loving this Wednesday? 

My summer has officially begun!!!

Well, Friday was my last day of the semester and the last day I was out in the field in a 4th grade classroom. I got the pleasure of working with a great teacher and a great bunch of kids! I’m going to miss them all!!! Tomorrow is going to be kind of strange because I won’t know what to do with myself!! I do have a few things around the house I need to get done though, so I’ll probably do a little cleaning up.

This coming Thursday, the 17th, my fiancé and I are going to get our engagement pictures done!! The first thing I’m going to do tomorrow is to figure out what we are going to wear. I’m going to pick out what I’m wearing first and then find something to match it that my fiancé can wear. Then 3 days after we do that, I’m going dress shopping!!!! I’m taking my mom, step-mom, aunt, grandmother, and 2 bridesmaids!!! I’m so excited!!! I’ve been waiting for this day since before I got engaged!!!!!

So, that’s about all that’s going on with me right now. Since I don’t have class or anything anymore, I’m going to try to write more posts. Happy 3 year anniversary to me and my fiancé!!!

Our anniversary was actually on Thursday, the 12th, but I didn’t have time to post then. We went out to eat at TGIF and then went to Target to start our wedding registry! We wanted to go to JCPenny, too, since we were close to there, but here they don’t have the scanner that you walk around with and scan things. Target has that though, so we got to walk around and scan barcodes of things to add to our registry. That was fun! I’ve been waiting to do that! Someday I’ll get to do it again when I’m setting up a baby registry! But that won’t be for a few more years.

So anyway, today I surprised him with a trip to Hersheypark for our anniversary. It’s a little cheaper to get it now compared to what it is in the summer, so I figured we would go now since I don’t know if we’ll make it there this summer. So we got in his car and I just told him where to go. Well, it turns out he figured out where we were going a few days ago but he didn’t tell me his guess. Oh well, we still had a great time even if it wasn’t a complete surprise.

I can’t believe it’s only been 3 years that we’ve been together!!! It seems like we’ve known each other for so much longer!! And I also can’t believe that in 399 days we will be getting married!!!! This next year is going to go by so fast!!! So I want to say thank you to my fiancé for being the best fiancé ever and for being there for me! I love you sooooooooo much!!!!

Wedding Help!

So…I need any advice I can get on how to do a wedding as cheaply as possible. My fiancé and I kinda went overboard with the venue and photography, so now we are trying to get everything else to be as cheap as possible. The wedding is in May of 2013 so we’re figuring about 11 or so more months to save money because probably around this time next year everything will be due. So if anyone has any advice on how to do a wedding cheap, that would be fantastic! Thank you in advance!!

Weekend Recap

Well, the weekend (and Spring Break) are over. It’s time to start a new week of classes. I can’t believe that there are only 4 more weeks left of classes!! After that is a week of finals and then we head out into a classroom to observe and teach a few lessons. Then after that, the semester will be over and I can work, work, work! I sat down last night and looked at 3 things: how much me and my fiancé have saved for the wedding, what we estimate the whole wedding to cost, and how much we need to save. It turns out that we need approximately $6,000 more for our wedding! Now, it may be a little lower than that because we might have overestimated some things, but there were also things that I didn’t even know what to put down for an estimation. So, maybe we will need about $6,000 more. And we need to come up with that in a year! When you divide that out per month it’s about $500. I have no idea how we’re going to save that much but I guess somehow we’ll manage.

So, on to what we did over the weekend, on Saturday I worked a quick shift from 8:30-12:30, so when I came home we went out to the garden! It was another gorgeous day to be outside! And we got a lot accomplished with the garden! We got all of the major roots out and most of the rocks. Actually, we probably didn’t even get out half of the amount of rocks that are in the garden, but that would take forever to get out every single rock. So we did the best we could and got a lot of big ones out.

Here I am attempting to pull out a root. I eventually gave up and my fiancé had to take it out.

Here is the worst part of the garden. There used to be a tree there, I think I wrote about how my dad and fiancé cut it down a few weeks ago. Well, that tree produced a ton of roots that were difficult to get out. But, after a lot of work we got em out!

As we were gathering the tools and cleaning up, I grabbed his hat and put it on. I am definitely not a hat person!

 

So, that was pretty much it for my weekend. I thought that I worked from 5:30-10 last night, but it turns out my schedule was 10-6. So I got called into work and got there about an hour late. I didn’t get written up though, so that’s good. This is about the 3rd time that I thought I worked at night but really worked earlier in the day. I gotta make sure I double triple check my schedule! So here’s to another week…another week closer to the wedding! I got an email from The Knot saying that it is 14 months away!!! I can’t wait!!! Have a great week everyone!
