Weekend Recap

So, we didn’t end up going to the pool on Saturday. It wasn’t even in the 70s!! I was so bored on Saturday!! All I ever do is stay home during the week because I don’t have anywhere to go or anyone to hangout with. I was looking forward to doing something with my fiancé and actually leaving the house!! Now the next time we can go to the pool won’t be until 2 weeks from now!

Around 3:30 I headed down to my aunt’s house for her Scentsy and Velata party. It was my aunt, cousin, step-mom, and 2 of my aunt’s friends. I got one order from the party and at least 2 more are going to order by the time we close it out! So overall it was a pretty good party!

When I got home from that, I made dinner and after we ate, I was bored again! We were going to go out with one of his friends and his girlfriend, but then they ended up doing something else. I was looking forward to Saturday night because my fiancé had said something about us going out in the morning, and then we ended up not going. We decided to just watch TV together and snuggle, which is something we haven’t done much of recently. Then I wanted to go to Rita’s, so we did! I had a coupon and on it it showed that they have Red Velvet Cake flavored ice. I was hoping they would have that kind, but they didn’t. So instead I got a Swedish Fish gelati and he got a Swedish Fish misto.

Then on Sunday, I worked another double shift! But this time, I got a little break in-between the 2 shifts. I worked from 8-4 and then 5:30-10. I was so tired by the end of the night and my feet were killing me! But it was all worth it in the end because I worked a total of 24 hours last week!!! That is the most I ever got in one week so I can’t wait till  next payday! I wish that my total number of hours could be closer to 30 every week now that I can work as many hours as possible, but I guess there are a bunch of other college kids that they have to divide the hours among. I’m seriously thinking of getting a second job!! Maybe I should apply to Rita’s, haha!

Now it is Monday, which means it’s time to catch up on all the housework that didn’t get done over the weekend, starting with the pile of dishes in the sink and the clean ones in the dishwasher. I don’t know why, but I get lazy on the weekend and I don’t feel like doing any cleaning! At least it’s only 2 days out of the week that I don’t clean and not the other 5! Well, I’m off to do some cleaning! How was your weekend? Leave me your comments!! And have a great Monday!

My cleaning schedule

So I’ve been wanting to create some kind of cleaning schedule and then post it somewhere that I can check off each item as it is done. I’ve looked online for cleaning templates and just couldn’t find any that I really liked or fit what I need. So I found a template for Excel that allows you to customize the list. I took that template, changed it up a bit, and printed out a list of things to clean daily and weekly.

Take a look at what I came up with…

CleaningSchedule

If you’d like to use this template, you can check it out here.

Then once I printed out the template, I took an 8’’ by 11’’ frame and put the printout in that. Now I can take a dry erase marker to check off each item as it is done and write the date of when I need to do that item again. I’m so excited to try this out and I hope it helps me stay on top of house work!!!

A room a week (and guest bloggers needed)

As I mentioned in my last post, I’m going to start a new project called “A room a week”. I got the idea from Natalie at Extraordinary Love. Each week I’m going to go through a different room in my house and go through every item within it. Then I’m going to decide what things I need and don’t need. This is going to be a lot better than just going through each room and putting things in places because when I do that, I don’t get rid of things I don’t need. So here is my schedule of which room I’m going to do when. It won’t take me that many weeks because the place is really small.

Week 1: Dining room- particularly the area right behind the table and in front of the couch. I know there are a ton of things that I need to get rid of in this area!

Week 2: Bathroom- We are going to be at the beach for the last part of this week so I figure the bathroom would be great for this week because there isn’t that much stuff in it.

Week 3: Kitchen- There may not be that much stuff to get rid of in the kitchen, but it doesn’t hurt to look and see if there is or not.

Week 4: Desk area- My fiancé will probably doing most of this since the stuff on the desk is mostly his.

Week 5: Living room

Week 6: Bedroom- This room is going to take the longest, so I’m saving it for last. It is such a mess up there and I’m sure there is a ton of stuff to get rid of!!!

Alright, I’ve made a plan for myself now hopefully I can stick to it! Looking at  my schedule, it will take me 6 weeks so I should be done after the first week in August. I will do a weekly post every Sunday to let you know how I did that previous week, complete with before and after pictures! Let me know what you think of this idea. Also, let me know if you decide to do this for your house!

Also, one more thing…I’ve decided I would like to get 3 guest bloggers for next week when me and my fiancé are away at the beach. If you are interested, just email me at IdolFan2890@gmail.com and let me know what you would like to write about!

No cavities!!

I just got back from the dentist and I am cavity free!!! I don’t really hate the dentist, but it isn’t one of my favorite things to do. First of all, I don’t have any insurance so it’s $108 every other time I go. The other times I go it costs $175 because they take x-rays. I skipped the x-rays this time to save money but my dentist told me I should definitely get them done the next time. So I guess when I go in January, I’m just gonna have to deal with paying $175. I can’t wait till I start teaching so I can have health and dental insurance!! The other thing I don’t like about the dentist is all the poking and prodding they do at your teeth. At one point she was measuring my gums by saying numbers to someone else who would write them down. After she was done with a row she would say “No bleeding”, but it definitely felt like my gums were bleeding.

Now onto what I like about the dentist. I like how the dental hygienist makes conversation with you. She was asking how my summer was going and if I had any plans. I said that I was going to the beach with my fiancé. Then she started asking about the wedding. Talking about my wedding is something that I love to do!!!

So that’s about it, that was my excitement for the day. Now I’m just going to do some cleaning up and catching up on the awesome blogs I follow. Another thing I want to get started on is a project called “A room a week”. I found it on the blog Extraordinary Love written by Natalie. She actually got the idea from a friend who heard about it in a book or article, Natalie can’t remember. The whole idea is that each week you go through a different room in your house and go through every single item in that room. As you go through everything, decide what you need and don’t need. For the things you don’t need, get rid of them somehow whether you throw them away or donate them. So I’m going to start making myself a schedule for which room I’m going to do each week and then hopefully I will be done by the end of the summer. Make sure you stay tuned for that post! Have a great Tuesday everyone!!!

My weekend wrap up

I feel like I haven’t had the time recently to blog as much as I used to. And that’s weird cause I’m done with classes. Well, I did just work a 6 day week, so that’s probably why I’ve been so busy and away from my laptop. Remember my latest organization project, my closet and tons of clothes? Well, I did weed through my clothes and get rid of some. I can actually fit all of my shirts in my closet now. Before I get rid of them, I’d like to look through them and try to upcycle them like Jill over at Creating My Way to Success. I’ve been seeing her recent posts of how she’s been taking her children’s clothes that don’t fit anymore and making them into new clothes that will fit. She probably used a sewing machine, so if that’s the case, I won’t be able to upcycle my clothes like she did. Take a look at her blog though, she has made some great things!!!

I finally finished the book I started reading at the end of March. It was House Rules by Jodi Picoult. I definitely recommend this book!!! It was really good! I never wanted to put it down to, but as you can tell, I started it in March and it is now May, so I was forced to put it down a lot because I didn’t have much time to read. I posted a few months ago saying that I was making a goal for myself: to ready 20 books between then and the end of the year. Well, 1 down only 19 more to go!!! The next book I just started today is called Damaged and is written by Cathy Glass. It was a suggestion by my step-mom and she said it was really good. I’ll let you all know how it is then. Hopefully it won’t take me over a month to finish this one!!

My fiancé and I went to Walmart Friday night cause we needed a few things. We were over at the deli getting lunchmeat and I noticed these tiny bananas in the produce section. I had never seen them before so I had to get them!!! They are so tiny and cute!!

One last thing…I just wanted to share with you what I’m going to be making for dinner. I’m going to take ground beef and brown it. Then I’ll drain it and add a can of Bush’s Maple Cured Bacon Baked Beans (this was my fiancé's suggestion) , some cheese, and some spices. Then I’m going to put that in a pan and cover it with biscuits and bake it. I’ll be sure to let you know how it turns out! Have a great Sunday evening everyone!!

Oh wait…there is one more thing and it’s exciting!! I’m going to start doing reviews and giveaways soon and I have 3 coming up in the near future! So be sure to keep your eye out for that!!
