Our vacation- {Part 5}

Well, this is the last part to the recap of me and my fiancé's vacation.
After checking out from the hotel around 9:00, we headed back to the boardwalk. We were a bit ahead of schedule here because we planned on checking out closer to 12 before going to the boardwalk. But oh well, we didn’t want to wait. So the first thing we did was check out an arcade. The big claw game with the Angry Birds stuffed animals was what drew in my fiancé! He is addicted to that game! The first time he tried to win a stuffed animal, he had it, but then the claw dropped it. Then the 2nd time, it stayed in the claw and he won!!! He loves his bird and will randomly throw it at me and say, “Angry Bird attack!!!” Lol…whatever makes him happy! :)100_2429The arcade was on a pier, so I go to take more awesome pictures of the beach!!!

Me: “They don’t surf on the East coast"
lol…I had said that sometime during our trip and was proven wrong when we saw a bunch of surfers. I just never saw anyone surfing on an East coast beach before.

So, we left the boardwalk around noon to start our journey home. It’s hard to believe that a week ago right now, we were at the beach. I can’t wait till next year when we can go back and we can actually go into the casinos!!!! We really want to stay at one of the hotels on the boardwalk, so we’ll have to start saving our money sooner! I had said before that I thought we could do this trip with $300 or less, well, I think I was a little off. I’m not sure what the grand total is, but I’m sure it was closer to $400.
Well, I hope everyone enjoyed reading through and looking at the pictures of me and my fiance’s vacation. In case you missed any of the posts, you can check them all out here:
There are only a few days left for my Rafflecopter invite code giveaway, so make sure you check that out. Have a great Friday!!!!

Our vacation- {Part 4}

So after we went swimming, we headed back to the boardwalk to go to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner. If you have never been there, you have got to try and find one near you. It is a great place!!! As soon as you walk in, you feel like you are in the rainforest!! Every half hour there is a thunderstorm complete with thunder and lightening effects and every 15 minutes the animals come to life! It is an experience that you have to experience for yourself!! I didn’t get a chance to get any pictures because it was kind of dark in there, and I didn’t want my flash to bother anyone. Oh, and what did I get to eat you might be wondering? I got the coconut shrimp and it was amazing!!!! It was about 6 or 7 of them and they were each on a stick. The breading was delicious!! I definitely recommend it!!
After we were done eating, we went to the Pier Shops. What my fiancé and I loved the most was a shop called Brookstone. It has all of these gadgets for everyday life that make things simple! It was just awesome!!! My favorite item that we saw there was this:
It’s an ice pop maker! How it works is that you freeze the pop maker (the thing on the left), take it out of the freezer, put the sticks into it, pour juice into the molds (you could even put fruit or other food into it), then 7-9 minutes later, the pops are done!! I definitely need one of these!!!
100_2400The also have a huge water fountain with lights and they do a show every hour on the hour. It’s pretty cool!

This was taken from the end of the pier looking onto the boardwalk, but I had to take the picture from inside because they had just locked up the doors, probably because it was raining.

We saw this and we’re like, “I’ve heard of Turkey Hill before!!”

I freaked when I saw these!!! They are the same kind of chairs that they have on American Idol!!!! Of course, I’m sure the ones that American Idol has are made of better material, because these were so light. But I loved them! When my fiance and I have a house someday, I would love to have a little bar at the kitchen with these chairs to sit in!!! I bet I could find some!

Our vacation- {Part 3}

After we were done at the beach, we drove back to the hotel to change. Then we headed back to Atlantic City and went to the Atlantic City Aquarium. On the way to the beach earlier, I noticed a sign for the aquarium so I checked out their site and found that it was only $8 per person! That was definitely a good deal so we figured we’d check it out. On our way out of the hotel we picked up some brochures and one of them had an ad for the aquarium along with a coupon for $1 off admission that could be used up to 4 times. So, here we were, on vacation and I was still using coupons!!! :)
100_2324
As you can tell, the aquarium wasn’t that big. It was a cute little one though! I love aquariums so we just had to check it out!
My favorite animal…

This is a cow-nosed ray. I don’t know why it’s called that though, it definitely doesn’t look like a cow at all.

The sting rays in this touch pool were very friendly. It was like they wanted to jump out of the pool!!

The 3rd floor of the aquarium was just an observatory deck. There was a nice view of the ocean so I took some pics.

After the aquarium, we headed over to a lighthouse that was 3 minutes away. The Absecon lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse in New Jersey and the 3rd largest lighthouse in the country. This was the first lighthouse that my fiancé has climbed and I think it was my 3rd. I know I climbed Cape Hatteras in the Outer Banks, but I don’t know if I climbed another one before or not. My grandparents love lighthouses so I knew that they would love hearing about this part of our trip!
