Why hello there, Idol finale

My fiancé and I stopped watching this season of American Idol a few weeks ago because we don’t really care for any of the contestants this season. The one thing I can’t understand is how the judges can say that this is the best season they’ve ever had. Really?? Well I beg to differ. There have definitely been better seasons than this one. Like season 4 where Carrie Underwood won (isn’t she one of the most successful artists to come from the show). Or season 6 with Jordin Sparks. Or seasons 1-10. Pretty much every other season but this season have been good. This season was so uninteresting to me that I’m not even going to see the Idols on tour this summer. And that’s a huge deal for me because ever since season 3, me and my mom have been going to see the Idols Live Tour (3 of those years my fiancé was also with). At first I said that we would just get the cheapest tickets we could get because of me and my fiance saving money for our wedding. Then we decided that to save even more money, we could just not go at all. And we’re both fine with that, because as I said before, we didn’t really care that much about this season.

The only contestants we liked were Skylar, Colton, and Hollie. They should have been the final 3!!! America got it all wrong!!!

The only reason I watched the finale tonight is because I want to see the past Idol contestants perform. Fantasia Barrino was the first Idol alumni to perform and I gotta ask one thing: what the heck was she wearing? I was never a huge Fantasia fan but she didn’t sound too bad.

Some performances I enjoyed:

Skylar sang “On the Radio” with Reba. I really like Skylar and thought that she did an awesome job with the song! And it was awesome to see Reba!

Hollie sang with Jordin Sparks! Jordin was so beautiful!!! Her hair is really long!!! I could never let my hair go that long!

They showed a clip of Randy and how he tells people they are so good that they could sing the phone book. So they put that to the test and had the top 10 sing the phonebook. That was kind of funny. I’m surprised they haven’t done anything like that in any of the past seasons.

So apparently Ace Young and Diana DeGarmo are dating and Ryan brings him up on the stage. In the back of my mind, I knew what was going to happen when they got up on stage, and I was right!! Ace proposed to Diana!!! That was so cute!!!! I didn’t even know that they were dating and now they are engaged!!!

Am I the only person that didn’t know that Dreamgirls was a broadway show long before it was a movie with Jennifer Hudson? And that the person who played Effie in the broadway version is Jennifer Holiday, not to be confused with Jennifer Hudson, who played Effie in the movie. I had no idea who Jennifer Holiday was until now. I had read something somewhere recently that mentioned the song “And I Am Telling You” and it said that it was sung by Jennifer Holiday and I was just like “No!! It is sung by Jennifer Hudson!!!” Now that thing I read makes sense!

And the winner of American Idol 2012 is…Phillip Phillips. I really pity that guy for his name. What were his parents thinking when they named him, seriously?? So there ya have it…another season of American Idol has come to an end. And quite frankly, I’m kind of glad. This season was just a flop for me. No one impressed me that much and the few that did, didn’t make it as far as they should have. If you watched the finale, what did you think? Leave me your comments!!

We’re finally down to the final 3!!

So, this was supposed to get posted last night around 9:00,  but Blogger wasn’t working. Now it finally is, so here is what I wrote about Idol last night.

What a season it has been so far. Tonight we will find out who makes it to the top 3!! I was going to go for a bike ride with my dad and fiancé but then I just didn’t feel like it and I need to get some dishes done. So I’m going to do dishes, watch Idol, and write my thoughts on Idol, all at the same time!

Tonight we actually got a recap of the performances last night. I think that’s one of the few times that they showed a recap this season. Then James and Scotty sang a duet. Next up Haley and Lauren did a duet.

Then they showed the contestants video chatting with their family members using Windows 7. That was so cute when James’ son was singing the ABC’s. I was feeling tears in my eyes! That has to be really hard to be away from your family for that long.

Woah, they have gold chairs for the top 3! The first person in the top 3 is Lauren!!! Yay! I knew she would be safe!!!

It is now 8:36 and we still don’t know who else is going to be in the top 3. They could make this into a 30 minute show if they didn’t have all this useless stuff. When they have past Idol contestants on the show, that is fine. But did they really have to have Enrique perform? He wasn’t the mentor this week. Oh well.

And speaking of past Idol contestants, Jordin Sparks was on tonight!! I loved her intro!! It showed her winning idol, then played some songs from her previous CD’s. I love her new song “I Am Woman”! I’ve probably listened to it a couple hundred times since buying it on Tuesday! I kept listening to it over and over again on repeat! I’m so excited that she’s touring with New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys this summer cause I can’t wait to see her again!! She is the one Idol contestant that I would really love to meet!! I mean, I’d love to meet a lot of them, but she is at the top of my list!!! Haha, she went up to the judges when she was singing and she kissed Steven on the lips. Overall her performance was awesome!!! It’s hard to believe that she was only 16 when she won Idol!! And now, like her song says, she is a woman!

After the commercial break, they premiered Steven’s new music video. It is now 8:45. Come on, we just want to know the results!

Back to the results…I am shocked!!! Haley is in the top 3!!! Wow!!!! So now it will either be Scotty or James going home. I really hope it’s Scotty!!!

Noooooooo….what has America done??? I think this is worse than when Pia got voted off!! I thought that he could have made it to the finale. Now I really hope that Scotty and Lauren are in the finale. It’s not that I don’t like Haley, because I do a little bit, but James got robbed

Look who’s opening for NKOTB and BSB!!!

So, I’m going with some friends to see NKOTB and BSB when they come near me this summer, and I just found out that the opening act is…..Jordin Sparks!!!! Now, I was excited for the concert already because it has been one of my childhood dreams to see the Backstreet Boys!!! And I thought I would never get the chance to see them live!!! But now that I’ll be seeing Jordin Sparks again, that makes me even more excited for the concert!!!! So that’s all I have for now. I just wanted to share my excitement with my readers!!! Happy Tuesday!!!

Here are the pictures I got of Jordin when I saw her in 2007 on the American Idols Live Tour. Our seats kind of sucked. But I think it was mostly the camera I had then. If I would have had the camera I have now, the pictures would have turned out sooooo much better!!! So hopefully when I see her in July, the pictures will be better than these!!!

Jordin’s New Body

I was watching a video the other day about how Justin Bieber’s movie “Never Say Never” is the biggest grossing concert film of all-time. It beat out Michael Jackson’s movie, can you believe that? Anyway, they also talked about Jordin Sparks and how she recently lost a lot of weight. I was kind of shocked about that at first because I had always thought she was proud of the skin she’s in and didn’t want to change her look. She even said before “I’m really comfortable in my own skin. I learned that I’m not ever going to be a size 2. I would look so weird as a size 2. Somebody would blow and I would fall right over. It just wouldn’t be healthy”. But after seeing the picture of her now, I’d say that she’s pretty close to a size two. Take a look for yourself and let me know what you think. Do you think she lost too much weight? Do you think she looked fine with the curves she had before?
